The Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code (MUPC) became effective as of March 31, 2012. Before the MUPC, the executor had no authority as to the bodily remains of the decedent.  Under § 3-701 of the MUPC, the named (named in the Will) personal representative has power to carry out the written instructions of the testator pertaining to the disposition of the bodily remains and other arrangements such as funeral and burial, even prior to his or her appointment.     As a side note, "decedent" is the term referring to the person who died, "personal representative" is the MUPC...

Here are some of the events affecting mortgage rates today: What Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) Are Doing Today: The price of the FNMA 30-Year 4.0% MBS coupon opened at 102.38 this morning - the same as yesterday's close. At 9:30 AM, the 4.0% MBS coupon was trading at 102.72 - up 5/32 from its opening. Remember, on mortgage backed securities (MBSs), as the price goes up, the yield comes down - and so do mortgage rates. I expect that mortgage rates will be up to 0.125 points better in price this morning as compared to yesterday.
