Being Rather Than Doing; The real estate professional and their time blocked behaviors can hinder your growth.  Let me explain.  I am a huge fan of time blocking. Time blocking has been how I have accomplished much in my life.  I need to prospect and so I time block that. I join a program called BOLD that demands we make 20 connections in a day, 100 in a week. This is time blocking on steroids and you are held accountable.  All this drives more business, more opportunity, more knowledge and more activity, right?  Yes, right.  That is good, right?  Yes, all those things are good.    I have spent a good deal of time looking at those I want to be like. The successful agent who has 20-50 listings at all times, the Realtor® who can balance life and work are folks I search out and ask questio...

Home Staging Westwood Massachusetts                  When Cindy Hansen of Gibson Sotheby's International Real Estate asked me to stage this grand English Tudor Manor, I was thrilled. This 7300+ square foot home on 2.36 lush acres of land is both welcoming and elegant, filled with grand surprises throughout. Already appointed beautifully, it was my job as a home stager to make sure that this lovely home was edited appropriately so that pictures looked amazing online, where most Buyers start their search. We also wanted to make sure that we added color with soft furnishings and staged all rooms to draw Buyers in. Working on this Home Staging Westwood Massachusetts was made so easy since these wonderful Sellers enjoyed shopping to make these rooms shine. ...

Control the feeling, or feelings is not the issue when you are triggered is it? It is hard to control feelings, or is it? In real estate we are in a full contact business each and every day.  Not only with others, but it begins with ourselves.  How do you feel when you sit down to begin your prospecting day?  Do you feel nervous, is your heart racing, do you have dialogues going on inside your brain telling you that you can't or shouldn't?  Do you?  Don't feel alone, most of us do.  This is a feeling that for some does go away as they build the habits, but for some it never does.  We have heard stories about the super successful that get very nervous before a performance long after the world has accepted them as one of the best.  These kinds of feelings are normal.  The goal is to contr...

Equal-Housing-MLS-Realtor-Logo-BW I am held to a higher standard, I am a Realtor®.  I have been meaning to share some thoughts on this for some time.  I liken being a Realtor® as the difference between your surgeon and your board certified surgeon.  I am a board certified professional with excellent statistics that are public information.  Fact is, I hold myself to an even higher standard.  I want to do the best I can in every situation for my clients. That means a more evolved system.  Real estate is both simple and hard.  In it’s simplicity it is; find someone who like the house, and sell it to them at a price and terms that are mutually acceptable. Simple, yes?  Anyone who had done more than one of these knows, simple, no. Now, what, you might ask. Realtor-MLS-Logo-BW Today there ar...

Hmmm, This just showed up in here and was probably here when the change over happened.  I do like change but find it annoying to have to follow through.  Once I follow through I was able to go through the contents and see if they are relevent now so long after they were originally written. Staying fresh and relevent is a big component of success.  Here is my Old Profile Contents About me: Truth and Service are important to me.  In fact, they are my core values. A Realtor® needs to be more than a person with information.  In todays internet world, everyone has information.  It is a Realtor® who can interpret the statistics and is able to guide you through the ever changing process of purchase and sale of residential property.  Guidelines are changing daily and it demands each buyer and s...

I recently decided to drink the kool-aid that Keller Williams has been offering.  I am relatively new to the business at 3 years, four months, but still feel as though I am learning each day.  From what I read here on Active Rain this process can continue throughout my career and this pleases me. The view from outside the Keller Williams family in is that these agents are on to something, but you have to drink their kool-aid to be one of them. I think that perspective is wrong now that I have joined in.  Before I left RE/MAX this month to join in on the focus and progressive actions of a KW office I did a whole lot of work to fully understand the brand.   I studied RE/MAX, Sotheby, Castles Unlimited, Weichert and Coldwell Banker deeply.  I wanted to know what it is that makes a truly su...

Real Estate is not for the feint of heart and that is for sure.  There are always issues that must be dealt with.  Lies are part of it, so is cheating and emotional responses. One day you world is perfect, then that phone call comes in that turns everything upside down.  Like they do in professional sports, the best approach is never get too high or too low, because the game is ongoing and the season isn't over. What do you do when you have your day blow up?  I asked this question around my office the other day.  Some drink, some go do something nice for themselves, some scream at the client, their spouse/kids/dog, some focus on the end game and realize it is not over unless you quit and go home, or stick it out and get to the end. So many people think real estate is easy.  Many think w...

When your voice goes quiet it can be very disconcerting.  I loved my routines of blogging everyday. I loved and still love the Active Rain community.  I look here far more for excellent answers to complex real estate situations than I ever do going to my current Broker/Owner. The vast knowledge and the free and open dialogue is one of the true assets in this industry.  I am blessed to be a part of this community and to add my voice about Storyteller Marketing.  I have had one bad experience here in the Rain and it was not the Rain's fault at all.  In fact, the good people here helped solve a situation that distracted my attention and robbed me of my time.  I am grateful for that. The unintended consequence was that I was afraid to come back. I was afraid to lend my voice to this forum i...

The home sale data is important because it is fresh evidence of how the real estate market in Norwood is performing. Sold data is the true barometer when conducting a market analysis. Some consumers and real estate agents wrongly use current available properties as a lead basis for pricing analysis. Although, current inventory pricing should be considered because of the competition factor. The true measure of a homes present value is what like/similar homes have recently sold for.
