Let's take a look at what's been going on in the real estate market in the fair city of Winchester: Winchester's housing inventory is primarily made up of single family homes. As you can see from the chart above, both the single family homes and condos in the city are still selling in an average time frame and the real estate market for these properties is pretty much at equalibrium. Winchester doesn't have many multi family homes (at least those that haven't been converted into condos during the past few years). Unlike most of the surrounding communities where multi family homes sell for more than single family homes, the reverse is true in Winchester and the numbers are showing us that it's still a buyers' market for multi family homes in 01890.

Recently I've been showing many condo's and single family homes that are vacant.  Its great for me because they are so easy to show.  But I wondered if many of you had tips to maintaining a vacant home in the winter.  I would assume that now is a great time to make sure that all the windows are securely locked, all heaing grates are covered so the home can retain some heat. Can any make some recommendations on managing a vacant home?

Haven For Healing is an outreach project sponsored by the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and IRIS - Interior Redesign Industry Specialists. The project is bittersweet - redesigners renew the space of a woman battling Ovarian Cancer. It is bittersweet because redesigners get to do what we love and we get to meet and renew the home of some really great women who are battling this dreadful disease. This past weekend the New England Chapter of Haven for Healing - Jill Hosking, Kathy Narkowictz, Susan Noel and Margaret Innis - had the privilege of redesigning the Master Bedroom of Sue G.  Once you sit down with Sue you realize you have found a new BFF - Best Friend Forever! The room was a challenge -        small space        locked into the bed placement       large furniture pieces. The...

I was out and about the other day running some errands and found myself in Winchester, MA.  Winchester is located about 15 minutes north of Boston and is one of the nicest towns in the area.  I had my camera and thought I'd shoot a couple of pictures of some buildings I liked and blog a little about the town..... Register your Winchester Business at DailyHomeOwner for more online exposure. Winchester's estimated median household income is almost twice the median household income of the rest of the state.  The town center is beautiful with plenty of little shops to enjoy.  Public transportation comes right into the center of town so it is easily accessible from anywhere around Boston.New house construction permits have run from the low of only 11 in 1996 to 38 in 1997 which were the high...
