Three dogs were sitting in the waiting room at the vet's when they struck up a conversation. The Black Labrador turned to the yellow Labrador and said, " So why are you here ? " The yellow Lab replied, "I'm a pisser. I piss on everything....the sofa, the curtains, the cat, the kids. But the final straw was last night when I pissed in the middle of my owner's bed." The black Lab said, "So what’s the vet going to do?" "Gonna cut my nuts off "came the reply from the yellow Lab. "They reckon it'll calm me down." The Yellow Lab then turned to the Black Lab and asked "why are you here? " The Black Lab said, "I'm a digger. I dig under fences, dig up flowers and trees, I dig just for the hell of it. When I'm inside, I dig up the carpets. But I went over the line last night when I dug a great bi...

Altavesta School Balloon Event: As the students arrive at school there is something happening on the field that promises that this won't be just another school day.   A few minutes later as the kids stand on that same field they are treated to a live demonstration of the steps balloon pilot, Chris Mooney, takes to make sure that Big Max, the RE/MAX hot air balloon, is inflated and ready to fly.   Although they won't be in the basket today, the kids are able to see how the burner heats the air causing the balloon to rise. As part of the RE/MAX Challenge the Wind Program, RE/MAX Leading Edge has recently brought the program to the Dallin School in Arlington and the Altavesta School in Woburn. The verdict is in and I've been found guilty!  The evidence was stacked against me too.  Last months newsletter to my clients addressed this very issue of protecting yourself from unscrupulous contractors!  I had warned my clients AND myself and still fell prey.  I failed to walk the talk!  Do what I say not what I do applies here....    The issue...my leaky roof.  Trying to save a few bucks I searched Craigslist (insert gasp here) for someone who was desperate for work. Ok, ok I deserve everything that happened next.  In short, broken promises, lost sleep, shady dealings, a roof that looks WORSE and leaks MORE than when he started and hundreds of dollars poorer!   Of course I knew that paying for 80% of the job before the work was completed was a bad idea but how could I say no to thi...

Frustrated by the delay of not  knowing if the offer to buy the Short Sale Property of your dreams is accepted? It's understandable. Thousands of people just like you found a property in a area, with all the features and benefits they wanted at a reasonable price. They wrote an offer, did a home inspection, had the offer accepted by the seller and now 2-3-4-5-6 months later haven't heard from the lender. You call your agent daily - who I assume is contacting the attorney daily asking what the status of the offer is. But all you hear is "It's pending" After speaking with friend that started their home search the same time. Made an offer on a foreclosure around the same time. And to put salt in the wound, they say they've already closed on the sale of their new property. So, what should y...

THE ECONOMY IS SO BAD THAT … I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail. Wives are having sex with their husbands because they can no longer afford batteries. CEO's are now playing miniature golf. Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen. I saw a Mormon with only one wife. I bought a toaster oven and my free gift was a bank. Angelina Jolie adopted a child from America . Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore. A picture is now only worth 200 words. They renamed Wall Street " Wal-Mart Street . When Bill and Hillary travel together, they now have to share a room. The Treasure Island casino in Las Vegas is now managed by Somali pirates. And, finally... I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Sui...
