Everything I write, everything I say, and every segment of my radio show comes from experience. Sometimes it is something I am going through right now. Sometimes it is something that happened recently. Sometimes it is a lesson pulled from decades in real estate. But none of it comes from theory alone. It comes from living it, handling it, surviving it, and learning from it.   And I am not interested in pointing fingers. My purpose is to take the stressful, difficult, complicated situations I have experienced, both personally and professionally, and turn them into something useful. If a lesson can be learned, then maybe the next person can be spared a little pain, a little confusion, or a little unnecessary stress. The transition from suburban life to a rural setting brought a real sense of culture shock. Spending the day at the Broker/Manager Summit was a lovely reminder that this business is about so much more than houses. It was a day filled with insight, conversation, and the privilege of being in the company of leaders from NAR, while also gaining a better understanding of what NAR is about and the role it plays in our profession, all while enjoying the special friendship and connection that make days like this so memorable. Especially with another Broker like Andrea Bedard !  There is something very meaningful about spending time with people who care deeply about this profession and about serving others well. Who Knew We Couldn’t Live Without It?Sometimes I think the funniest part of our lives is realizing how many things we once lived perfectly well without but now act like we may not survive if they disappear for ten minutes.Who knew we couldn’t live without a TV remote control? There was a time when changing the channel required standing up, walking across the room, and turning a knob. We survived. Barely, apparently.Who knew we couldn’t live without GPS?
