The Colorful Homes of Historic Charles Village in Baltimore, MD 21218: A fantastic house just came on the market in this highly desirable block. It is not my listing, but I still want to share it with the immediate world.  This is one of the grand dames, though it doesn't look like it from the outside, necessarily.  It is reminiscent of the Haight Asbury area of San Francisco, near the Painted Ladies.      Once a building with several units, it has lovingly been restored to a single-family home with 5 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, offered at $ 549,500. It has the historic details --fabulous bay window, 5 gorgeous fireplace mantels,   beautiful inlaid wood floors, lovely crown moulding, dramatic staircase.     It has totally been updated into a warm, sophisticated, handsome, and modern Victoria...

Baltimore’s North Calvert Green is affordable and amazing. Buy into Baltimore with limited funds for your down payment and closing costs at the North Calvert Green townhomes in Baltimore’s Old Goucher Historic District. Last weekend I was able to tour an available property during an open house.                                    North Calvert Green townhomes are located in midtown Baltimore primarily between Calvert St and Barclay St on the east-west access running from 22nd Street to 24th Street on the north-south access. This location is walking distance from Baltimore’s Amtrak Penn Station and Station North Arts District to the south and Charles Village to the north.       Priced from $199,000 to $249,000, these homes have been positioned in the market with every possible financial...

Weather in the Mid-Atlantic has been peculiar this year. My favorite episode was  earlier this month when we had a rainbow over Baltimore.  A slow moving rainstorm hit around 6pm. Around dusk the light looks perfect on the federal red brick fascades. Its a great time of day to photograph urban buildings. On this special evening we were treated with a rainbow that was vibrant and memorable. This photo was taken 3.5 miles north of the Inner Harbor from the University One Condominium in Charles Village. Thanks to social media suddenly a lot of us Charm City natives were out snapping dramatic pictures of the rainbow and sharing it with friends. Here is a picture taken from the Station North neighborhood looking north by my friend Eddie Winter.                 Just how peculiar has the wea...
