The Lise Howe Group just put unit S803 under contract at the Chase in Bethesda, MD.  It was listed for $359,900 for a 1 bedroom 1 bath condo with 571 square feet and a $342 condo fee.  The buyers clearly saw what we saw - that the Chase is great value since it is a mid sized  condo building in Bethesda just across from the Bethesda Metro.  The building is well priced but still provides owners with granite counters and stainless appliances, balconies, storage units, washers and dryers in the unit, and garage parking.  There is a beautiful pool and tennis courts, an exercise facility, and a pet friendly attitude.  The front desk even keeps dog biscuits on the counter for Fido and Fifi!    You will love being so close to all of downtown Bethesda and the view from your balcony is amazing! I...

I freely confess that I love pizza - so what better way to embrace Bethesda MD than to try all the pizza restaurants that are available.  I think I already have my favorite pizza joint, but I am prepared to be an adult about this and keep an open mind - In the meantime - I am going to try a new pizza restaurant each week and revisit the ones I really like.  I am sure this sounds like a significantly difficult task, but someone has to do it - and I believe I am up to the challenge! This week took me to &Pizza at 7614 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, MD.  Time was short on Friday night so I tried to call ahead to order dinner.  I got lots of options on the recorded phone message - I could speak to customer service if I pushed one number or accounting if I pushed another.  Finally at the e...

Tonight was movie night for my husband, Bill, and me. I have vowed that we will see all the Oscar nominees next year - so what better way to get prepared than to see a movie each week.  I finished showing properties today on a real high note.  My clients really liked a property on Whippoorwill in Rockville but since they have to get their home on the market in order to buy, this may not be the house they actually buy.  Still, it is always nice to end a day's showings on a high note.  After exchanging the end of day pleasantries with my clients, I jumped in the car and raced home to pick up my husband and head to Bethesda Row  in downtown Bethesda for an early movie.  We wanted something light and happy so we chose My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, a reprise of the original cast plus a few gra...

The face of Downtown Bethesda is constantly changing and getting more and more upscale. When Parker's restaurant and Tara Thai left Bethesda Avenue in  March 2015, they were replaced by Williams Sonoma, the upscale houseware and kitchen supply store from California.  Williams Sonoma has been a welcome addition to downtown Bethesda since it opened in late October.  I have enjoyed stopping by as the weather cooled to grab a sample of their hot cider or to see what I needed for a holiday celebration. Now that the holidays are over, it seems that the full Williams Sonoma experience is kicking into full gear.  Every Sunday the Bethesda Williams Sonoma offers a complimentary technique class. This Sunday, January 17, the class will focus on sweet and savory crepes and how to make the fillings ...

Cork and Fork in Bethesda Maryland - a great addition to Bethesda Row and downtown Bethesda  Cork and Fork is an engaging store on Bethesda Row, owned by Dominique and Anna Landragin, French natives born into winemaking families! The Bethesda store is located at 7110 Bethesda Lane, close to Blue Mercury, the Le Creuset Store, and Upstairs at Bethesda Row.  It is definitely part of what makes living in a condo in downtown Bethesda so popular! Dominique’s family wine making history dates back to 1772 when his great-great-grandfather first made champagne. Following the family tradition his grandfather managed Champagne Veuve Clicquot vineyards and his father managed Champagne Heidsieck vineyards. Dominique studied viticulture and oenology at Beaune Agricultural College, Burgundy. He b...
