The long awaited Wegmans is now open in the Woodmore shopping center in Bowie, MD. I hate to admit that I have never been to a Wegmans.  However, I am excited as all the other local residents to check out what the store has to offer. Wegmans features regular grocery store items, club store prices for bulk items, seasoned meats ready to cook as well as ready made meals for nights you don't want to cook. Tomorrow morning at 7am Wegman's will open their first store in Prince George's County at the new Woodmore Town Center right of 202. The Wegman's store will be the anchor of this newest development that also host Costco, Best Buy (which is already open) and JC Penny coming Feb. 2011. Wegman's is comparable to Whole Foods. It is known as a high end grocery that offers a sushi bar, many delicious prepared or cooked to order meals, & sometimes movie theathers on the second level and much more. Freebie of the Day-Screenr.com. www.Screenr.com is a free tool that I stumbled across on the Internet while I was watching a webinar by those two dudes-Josh Schoenly & Ryan Hartman webinar on how to get leads with Craiglist. Two middle schools, Benjamine Tasker and Sam Ogle feed into the Bowie High School. Bowie has a median household income of $99,105, based on a 2007 estimate of census data. Bowie, MD currently has 530 Active listings in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Of these, 87 are foreclosures, or bank owned properties. Bowie has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the area. This morning I was watching the Today Show and they were discussing the death of the McMansion.  According to their resident real estate expert buyers no longer wanted larger homes.  She even indicated that there was a trend towards a tiny home (approximately 70 square feet). These segments often get on my nerves because they make sweeping generalizations about the market as though they are truths everywhere.  Here in Maryland, I work with many first time buyers interested in buying homes under $150,000 and I have yet to find someone who would even consider a 70 square feet home. In my opionion, buyers are mostly buying smaller homes because that's what they can afford.  When I go out with buyers I often hear them complaining about the size of the bedrooms and wishing they were bigger. ... 09/03/2010

   THE REAL ESTATE FARMER-I've done real estate before I became a Real Estate Agent. Yesterday I wrote a blog called   THE REAL ESTATE FARMER-Where did the name come from?.
