It's a Sunlight after the SNOW Kind of Southern Maryland Day! The Sunshine is barreling through my windows. It looks like a white paradise out there. There are icy patches on the Chesapeake Bay. My Golden is snoozing at my side. Just for a moment I am going to soak in all this SUNLIGHT. There have been many gray COLD icy snow days lately. The coffee can wait. For a few more moments, I still won't be late. For a few more moments, the world can wait. Let the Sun Shine In!

Condos in Chesapeake Beach and North Beach       Looking for the bay views but don’t want the hassle of a home. A condo could be the answer and there are several to choose from in Chesapeake Beach and North Beach. All have amazing views of the bay.     Mead House is a small condo complex right off the North Beach boardwalk. Since it’s at the end of the boardwalk it is a quieter area but still within walking distance of the North Beach shops, restaurants, farmer markets, beach and other beach activities. The condos have fireplaces and balconies that look over the bay. The unit is set up with a separate living and dinning room. A fireplace separates the two rooms.  The bedrooms are on the same side of the unit. The larger bedroom does have a view.         Down the street is Southwinds...

Would You Like a Cup of Teavana? It's Nirvana! Once in Elementary School I got on a Peanut Butter and Marshmellow Sandwich kick. It lasted about a year. Yep, 365 days at least. Lately, I've been on a KCup kick. You know, Raspberry Truffle and a Pumpkin Spice and German Chocolate Cake Java Flavors. Somewhere over the Christmas Holidays I strolled into a Teavana Tea Shop.  I should have asked Security to remove me. It was open house day and I had to make my way around the whole entire store testing it all.  Then, I rattled on about it and a Special Friend, accustomed to my Starbucks and Panera and Sweet Frog MEANDERINGS, colluded with Santa Paws to make sure I received a Perfect Tea Maker Teavana Tea Pot with some samples. I stocked up this week. 365 and counting. Hope she stops by to che...

When did snow become a weapon of mass destruction? In an effort to gain ratings, TV news has turned snow into something to be feared. (As a former news producer, I can’t tell you how many times I have sent camera crews and reporters to the end of the earth in search of snow…  all because we told everyone it was going to be bad.) All day Thursday, I heard about the impending doom. The Weather Channel talked about Boston being at Snow-con 8, as if we were about to experience nuclear fall-out instead of snow! Yes Boston was being invaded by white powdery flakes but is that anything to be afraid of? I remember growing up, I sat in front of the TV and wish the snow would come. A snowstorm meant snowball fights, snow ice cream and sledding… the big bonus? no school. Somewhere along the way I...

Reservations for Two Christmas Eve at Outback Prince Frederick MD.... Mom and I went to Outback tonight to celebrate the life of my childhood friend who lost her battle with Cancer Sept 7. Today would have been her Birthday. Over the three plus decades of our friendship, we would routinely go out for her Birthday Celebration either the 24th or a day immediately surrounding Christmas Eve. We made reservations for two at our favorite table number 7 where she would join me, Mom and my Dad regularly.  As the hostess lead us back she confirmed ...reservations for three, right? I could hardly talk. 'No," I said, "They were clearly for two. But thank you, that was very special you said that to us on Christmas Eve." It made our night. Mom and I agreed, she was with us tonight. Merry Christmas a...

Putting Together a Purchase Offer In today's Southern Maryland real estate market, demand for homes is high.  It is not uncommon to find multiple offers on a home.  That means that you may have some stiff competition.  When you find the home you want to purchase, you need to make sure you are both diligent and attentive to detail or you could find yourself losing out on your dream home.  After all, a deal isn't closed until the escrow papers are signed and keys are handed over.  Here is a brief guide to putting together a purchase offer. First of all, ask your Southern Maryland real estate agent to put together a comparative market analysis of homes sold within the last 30-60 days in the same area as the home you are interested in.  This will help you determine what a realistic sales pr...
