Last night I attended the Sewells Orchard Association meeting in Owen Brown Community Center.The meeting was full of interesting conversations budgets, new upcoming elections and getting this  small community to go paperless. The usual discussions except that there is one home that is in     Sewells Orchard that would like to raise chickens. There is only one home in the neighborhood that is qualified to raise chickens so we needed to vote whether they should or should not be able to raise these chickens. That was not something I expected to hear. The rest of the meeting was pretty boring with the usual topics of conversations.There are only 4 homes for sale at the moment. Last night I wrote in Q&A a simple question. What does it take to get one of the blogs you write be featured. I explained that I just hit the 50,000 points mark and still no featured blog. How disappointing. Well that has been my focus all day in the ActiveRain community. Well while I was getting wonderful feedback from so many raiders guess what happened? I received the email that I was looking so forward to receiving. That's right a blog I wrote a couple of weeks before will be a feature blog. Born and raised in Tel-Aviv, Israel I had never experienced snow in the end of April. I moved to Aventura (North Miami Beach) at the age of eleven with my family and living there until 2010 I certainly never experienced any snow. Now living in Columbia Maryland for the past five years I had experienced so many records for my area. Record snow followed by record heat.  Hurricane followed by an earthquake. 7246 Dockside Ln has happy new owners! Just SOLD at Lake Elkhorn in Columbia, MD! There clearly is a right buyer for every home and a right home for every buyer. The amazing Lake Elkhorn views made this townhome so very special but it wasn't the only thing that sold the buyers on it. It had charm and a homey feeling that the buyers (and their agent) felt the other properties in the Village of Owen Brown just did not have... it could have been the views or the lovely hardwood floors or the wood-burning fireplace in the living room or all of its special features ... or simply the fact that the buyers could tell that this home had been loved. I Am Going To Run Away And Join The Circus! Well, I am not, but my kid could.   When looking for things to do for kids near Catonsville,MD and Columbia, Maryland, we found Center Ring Circus School.  It is owned and operated by Gregory May, a former Ringling Bros. clown.  Greg is so encouraging to all the kids (and I am sure the adults too).  The classes are open to all ages and ability levels.          Syd started at the summer camp last year and loved every minute!  She came home happy and exhausted every night!  She learned how to ride a unicycle, spin plates, balance on balls, juggle, and some basic aerial and trapeze arts.  She fell in love with Aerial and has been taking classes that focus on Aerial since. Maggiano's Comes to Columbia MD! My husband an I have fond memories of going to Chevy Chase Maggiano's in NW Washington DC with friends on New Years Eve and celebrating Birthdays with friends and family. Now Maggiano's has come to Columbia MD and our daughter and son-in-law treated us to dinner as one of our Christmas gifts. It was a festive holiday atmosphere at Maggiano's and we had a party of 6 people which made it easier to speak to everyone. I remember a time with 12 friends and it was impossible to converse with everyone!
