Columbia, Maryland, Howard County open houses May 16-17 2015    BEWARE!! During an open house if you do not have a real estate agent representing you, the realtor who is hosting the open house is representing the seller. Many people are unaware of the fiduciary duties of a real estate agent and assume that agents who shows them houses represent them. Not necessarily. If you have not signed an agency agreement that designates you as an agent's client, rather than his customer, the agent is acting as a fiduciary agent of the seller. Fiduciary duties are legal obligations to the client, not the customer. As your Buyer Agent my fiduciary duty is to you, the Buyer. This relationship and agreement includes fidelity, honesty, dedication to purpose and acting in your, the Buyer, best interests...

Last night I wrote in Q&A a simple question. What does it take to get one of the blogs you write be featured. I explained that I just hit the 50,000 points mark and still no featured blog. How disappointing. Well that has been my focus all day in the ActiveRain community. Well while I was getting wonderful feedback from so many raiders guess what happened? I received the email that I was looking so forward to receiving. That's right a blog I wrote a couple of weeks before will be a feature blog. I was so happy, thrilled. The wonerful BOLD law that I learned became true. I focused of having a featured blog. I said it out loud. I wrote it down and here I am absolutely thrilled!Thank you Kara Moll. Thank you Kerrie. Thank you BOLD. Thank you fellow rainers.

Born and raised in Tel-Aviv, Israel I had never experienced snow in the end of April. I moved to Aventura (North Miami Beach) at the age of eleven with my family and living there until 2010 I certainly never experienced any snow. Now living in Columbia Maryland for the past five years I had experienced so many records for my area. Record snow followed by record heat.  Hurricane followed by an earthquake. Dorango  and now snow in the end of April. One thing I'm sure of weather is never boring here!!! I love living here!!!!

7246 Dockside Ln has happy new owners! Just SOLD at Lake Elkhorn in Columbia, MD! There clearly is a right buyer for every home and a right home for every buyer. The amazing Lake Elkhorn views made this townhome so very special but it wasn't the only thing that sold the buyers on it. It had charm and a homey feeling that the buyers (and their agent) felt the other properties in the Village of Owen Brown just did not have... it could have been the views or the lovely hardwood floors or the wood-burning fireplace in the living room or all of its special features ... or simply the fact that the buyers could tell that this home had been loved. My sellers did do a wonderful job of maintaining it and keeping it in show ready condition at all times - considering that we were on the market over...

The Lise Howe Group just sold 9401 Tall Window Way in Kings Contrivance, Columbia MD 21046 for $450,000.  This four bedroom, 2.5 bath colonial had been renovated by the current owners with new bathrooms, a new kitchen, new flooring, fresh paint and landscaping.  The two car garage and family room-kitchen combination were particularly appealing to the new owners, who are talking about a pizza oven and more gourmet appliances in the large kitchen! Even though this beautiful home is gone, there are lots of other homes in Columbia Maryland waiting for someone to fall in love with them!  If you work at the NSA and don't want a long commute, Columbia is the perfect place to call home! I Am Going To Run Away And Join The Circus! Well, I am not, but my kid could.   When looking for things to do for kids near Catonsville,MD and Columbia, Maryland, we found Center Ring Circus School.  It is owned and operated by Gregory May, a former Ringling Bros. clown.  Greg is so encouraging to all the kids (and I am sure the adults too).  The classes are open to all ages and ability levels.          Syd started at the summer camp last year and loved every minute!  She came home happy and exhausted every night!  She learned how to ride a unicycle, spin plates, balance on balls, juggle, and some basic aerial and trapeze arts.  She fell in love with Aerial and has been taking classes that focus on Aerial since. There are classes for kids and adults.  Most of the classes are in the even...

Home buyers interested in moving to Columbia, MD all have one important question at the top of their list:What is the CPRA fee and what does it include?Columbia, MD is a planned community in the heart of Howard County, MD which was founded by James Rouse in the 1960s.It is made up of 9 villages - each with its own village center - and a town center (including the Mall of Columbia and Lake Kittamaqundi), and offers more than 3,500 acres of green space, almost 100 miles of walking/jogging/biking paths, lakes with fishing and boating piers, community centers, interfaith centers and a variety of recreational facilities. Many newcomers wrongly assume that in addition to the amenities above, the CA (Columbia Association and use of its fitness centers and pools) is also included in the CPRA (Co...

When you want to tell potential buyers why the Lake Elkhorn area in Columbia, MD is such a great place to live, you can do no better than go directly to the source. And that is just what I did. Mr and Mrs Seller, what's the best part about living on Dockside Ln in Columbia? We really enjoy living at 7246 Dockside Lane because of the location.  After coming home from a long day at work, we are able to enjoy some barbecue on our deck or a cozy fire in our fireplace while taking in the views of Lake Elkhorn. And Lake Elkhorn is really beautiful year round. Then we can step out our back door to take a leisurely walk or roller blade on the trail around the lake. There are even "exercise stations" along the trail for those who are feeling really ambitious. There is no need to join a gym when ...

Maggiano's Comes to Columbia MD! My husband an I have fond memories of going to Chevy Chase Maggiano's in NW Washington DC with friends on New Years Eve and celebrating Birthdays with friends and family. Now Maggiano's has come to Columbia MD and our daughter and son-in-law treated us to dinner as one of our Christmas gifts. It was a festive holiday atmosphere at Maggiano's and we had a party of 6 people which made it easier to speak to everyone. I remember a time with 12 friends and it was impossible to converse with everyone! It's fun to order the family style menu at Maggiano's which allows 3 appetizer choices, 4 different entrees, and 2 desserts, all with unlimited refills. We devoured the delicious appetizers with refills, so after that they may hope you don't ask for refills on th...
