Columbia, MD   Home Residential Resale Statistics - December 2012 Though a slight drop in sales when compared to November 2011(a little over $1 million less), the 21044 portion of Columbia, MD realized a substantial increase when compared to December 2011, with total sales volume increasing over 50% from $6.4 million to $10 million. Though the average selling priced only increased by 2.79%, ten more homes were sold last month than during the same time last year. Home Residential Resale Statistics -- November 2012   Columbia, MD   The 21044 region of Columbia fared well this November, with sales very reminiscent of November 2011, though slightly greater. Total sales volume increased 5.14% from $10.6 million to $11.2 million, which is mostly attributable to one more home being sold this month than the same time last year (34 vs. 33). Homes sold slightly quicker, 6 days faster on average, and considering that there are almost 20% less active homes on the market at the moment, that's definitely a positive indicator. I have several friends who live in Columbia, MD and it's always fun to visit the neighborhood pools there!   Columbia is a planned community built between Baltimore and Washington, DC which contains a number of villages/neighborhoods.  Each village has a center which often includes a grocery store, liqour store, and restaurants.  A local pool and community center are usually close by along with neighborhood schools.  The town is criss crossed with bike paths, little lakes and playgrounds.  It's such a walkable and bikeable community!
