There's no question, the best place for sushi in Howard County, MD is UMI Sushi right on Main Street in Ellicott City!I like to take my assistants out for a special dinner after (especially challenging but rewarding) transactions, and last week we stopped by UMI Sushi! We didn't make reservations, thinking we would arrive early enough on a weekday, but UMI was packed. There was immediate availability inside but if you go to UMI during the summer months, you have to sit outside and enjoy their lovely patio with views of the Tiber stream.  UMI's sushi is melt-in-your-mouth good, and super fresh (they gut and prepare the salmon themselves, every morning). This week's charming home is a condo that used to be a classroom in historic Ellicott City - a home that I just helped my client buy. This is a story of a perfect match, things that are just meant to be, the law of attraction and the happiest of endings, or new beginnings. More about that another time though because today, it's all about the condo that used to be a classroom!The Greystone, also known as the Schoolhouse among the locals, dates back to the first half of the 19th century, and was built to house an academy for men. Yesterday was a glorious Spring day. The sun was out until late afternoon and it was warm enough to leave the sweater at home. It was the perfect excuse - not that we really needed one - to head to our most favorite ice cream location in Ellicott City's historic district. Park Ridge Creamery opened their windows for the season and lots of Main Street visitors took advantage of it. If you are familiar with Ellicott City's history and the devastation the two flooding events in 2016 & 2018 have caused, seeing Old Town bustling with activity is simply a beautiful sight!
