Record Public School Enrollment in Maryland Public schools will open in Maryland with an expected record enrollment of 870,000 students. In Montgomery County, where we live, the enrollment forecast is that 156,514 students will attend classes during the school year that begins on August 31st. That number includes 2,662 more students than last year.For out of the area readers, the population of Montgomery County, Maryland is about one million and the county has a reputation for the outstanding public school system. Teaching Kids How to Walk Safely School starts next week in Montgomery County, Maryland!  If your child walks to school, now would be a good time to review with her/him how to safely walk to school.  The below tips are provided by our partners in safety SafeKids. Teach kids at an early age to look left, right and left again before crossing the street. Then remind them to continue looking around until safely across. City of Gaithersburg Plans for Olde Towne Park Plaza An engineering and design firm will soon begin developing plans for the Olde Towne Park Plaza and streetscapes along East Diamond Avenue. With input from an ad hoc citizen advisory committee, the firm of A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. was selected to conduct the work, which includes an analysis of the existing property, a traffic study and lighting analysis, conceptual and preliminary design, construction drawings, and assistance with construction management.
