The most unwanted flower   You probably have not given a lot of thought to the topic of your most unwanted flower. However, in many areas, dandelions are providing a lot of color to suburban lawns and home owners are trying to find a way to eliminate them. Before you dig up your dandelions, take a little time to look closely to enjoy their beauty and maybe even take a photograph or two. Enjoy your spring lawn care and gardening!      Dandelion, Spring Photowalk, Kentlands, Gaithersburg, MD IMG 5966 Photograph by Roy Kelley Roy and Dolores Kelley Photographs

Retirees with excessive mortgage debt   DSNEWS reports continued concerns with the amount of debt that seniors are carrying into their retirement years. While the homeownership rate among Americans age 65 and older has remained at a constant 80 percent for the past decade, the percent of older Americans with outstanding mortgage debt has increased since the start of the housing crisis, according to a report released Wednesday by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Older Americans Carrying More Mortgage Debt This information should encourage every family to do everything that they can to pay off their mortgage debt before retirement if they will be living on a fixed income. Many retirees face unexpected high costs of medical care and are then unable to cope with their mortga...

What’s blooming in your neighborhood?   Nothing beats getting out and walking about to see what is going on in our communities. Put on your walking shoes and grab your camera and you will be ready to do a little photowalking. You might just meet some neighbors or contractors doing spring work. While you are out, photograph the flowers and blossoms that are providing the colors of spring. In Maryland, the long and severe winter certainly impacted the plants and flowers. I do not think our camellias will be blooming this season even though they were load with hundreds of buds. When you take your photographs of flowers and blossoms, include them in your blogs. Your prospects and your clients do love the spring colors. The snapshots in this blog were taken in Kentlands. For out of the area ...

Book Recommendation: The Edge by Catherine Coulter   I just finished reading The Edge (1999) by Catherine Coulter. This novel is one of the 18 books in her FBI Thriller Series. We picked up this new book at one of our favorite thrift shops to try the author. I enjoyed the book and will add the others to our list to obtain from the library. This novel features FBI agent Ford “Mac” MacDougal as he investigates an incident that involved his sister Jilly running her Porsche off an Oregon cliff. There is plenty of action to maintain your interest. Read a good book this week for your personal enjoyment.     Spring Blossoms in Kentlands IMG 6096 Photograph by Roy Kelley Roy and Dolores Kelley Photographs

Summer Snowflakes in Kentlands, Spring Photowalk   If you are thinking about those cold and wet snowflakes, you have to change seasons. Springtime in Kentlands means that the Summer Snowflakes are blooming in the neighborhood gardens. Leucojum aestivum is the official name for these small white bell shaped flowers with green trim. They are also called Loddon Lilies. In spite of the summer name, these flowers bloom in the spring. They will grow in any soil and in the sun or shade. I like to see them as accents in front of other plants. In this picture, you can see red azalea buds in the background. Take a photowalk through your community to see if you find some Summer Snowflakes.  Enjoy the colors of the season with your camera in hand. For out of the area readers, Kentlands is located i...

If you like lots of action in your thriller novels, this is a book that you will enjoy. This is a tale of family secrets, greed and revenge. From the synopsis: When Hector Cross’s life is overturned, he immediately recognizes the ruthless hand of an enemy he has faced many times before. A terrorist group has re-emerged – like a deadly scorpion from beneath its rock. Determined to fight back, Hector draws together a team of his most loyal friends from his former life in Cross Bow Security, a company originally contracted to protect his beloved wife, Hazel Bannock, and her company, the Bannock Oil Corp. Together, they tra...

Colors of Spring, Kentlands Photowalks   I like to photowalk through our Kentlands neighborhood in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The severe and long winter damaged a lot of plants and we do not have as many spring flowers as we would normally see at this time of the year. If you need a little extra exercise, grab your walking shoes and your camera walk through your home neighborhood. Then, share your photographs in your blogs. Enjoy the colors of spring with your camera in hand.      Dandelion, Kentlands IMG 5649 Daffodils, Kentlands IMG 5645 Colors of Spring, Kentlands IMG 5648 Azalea, Kentlands IMG 5639 Spring Blossoms, Kentlands, Gaithersburg Maryland IMG 5651 Hyacinth, Kentlands IMG 5650 Photographs by Roy Kelley Roy and Dolores Kelley Photographs

Gaithersburg Maryland Kentlands 20878 Real Estate Report  If you are looking to buy in Gaithersburg MD for  2014, our recommendation is to start early rather than later. New homes sales are bound to increase in the next few months, plus interest rates are very fragile in our market right now and could change dramatically at any time. If you are looking to sell in Gaithersburg MD for 2014, our recommendation is to be realistic and don't take chances on the marketing of your home plus the pricing, These two elements goes together hand on hand for a successful sale. Remember, in Montgomery County Maryland for 2013.... 25.1 of listings did not sell and went expired...that is one out of four houses!   Gaithersburg MD Real Estate KENTLANDS Gaithersburg Maryland Kentlands 20878 Real Estate
