Book Recommendation:  Consent To Kill by Vince Flynn   CIA counter-terrorism operative Mitch Rapp is the primary character in a series of thirteen books by Vince Flynn. I just finished reading Consent To Kill (2005) as part of my plan to complete the full series. If you enjoy thrillers, you will enjoy all of the Mitch Rapp novels. Sadly, the author died in June, 2013 at the age of 47 after a long battle with prostate cancer. One of my personal goals is to read at least one book each week for personal pleasure. Longwood Gardens, Best Public Garden   Those that follow my blogs on a regular basis know that Dolores and I frequently visit Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania to enjoy and photograph the plants and flowers.  We were pleased to see the announcement that Longwood Gardens has been voted the Best Public Garden by the readers of USA TODAY. Scam Alert: Threats of arrest if cash is not paid     Area residents are receiving calls from scammers as they pretend to be a Deputy Sheriff. They threaten to arrest the resident if they fail to immediately pay the demanded cash.  The scammers claim that a warrant has been issued and the only way to prevent the warrant from being served is to pay up in cash. Working with Hoarders   Those of us in the real estate business sometimes encounter hoarders that need to sell their homes. The task is very difficult without professional assistance. In response to the area needs, the City of Gaithersburg is supporting a program to assist hoarders and this is the City notice The Gaithersburg Hoarding Task Force and the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington are hosting a day-long training for professional organizers and other clutter specialists who work with hoarders. Topics include identification, support, clutter reduction strategies, and connection to appropriate resources. These places could be in your home community or they may be travel destinations for day trips. Everybody loves to see pictures from zoos. Book Recommendation:  Providence Rag by Bruce DeSilva   I just finished reading Providence Rag (2014) by Bruce DeSilva. This is a novel that you will want to add to your spring reading list. The main character of this book is Liam Mulligan, an old-school investigative reporter for a newspaper in Providence, Rhode Island. Mulligan investigates a young serial murderer. You will also want to read DeSilva's other books Rogue Island and Cliff Walk. One of my personal goals is to read at least one book each week for pleasure. Book Recommendation:  American Assassin by Vince Flynn   If you enjoy thrillers, you want to read American Assassin (2010) by Vince Flynn. This is the first of a thirteen book series featuring the character Mitch Rapp.  Mitch Rapp was recruited to be a clandestine operative outside of the normal chain of command at the CIA. This is action packed book that is easy to read. The Mitch Rapp story begins with American Assassin, followed by Kill Shot, Transfer of Power, The Third Option, Separation of Power, Executive Power, Memorial Day, Consent to Kill, Act of Treason, Protect and Defend, Extreme Measures, Pursuit of Honor and The Last Man (November 2012).
