Princess lily in the rain: Kentlands Flower photographers find opportunities for some good shots after a rain shower.   Frequently, the added droplets of water make the photograph even more interesting.   Some photographers include a water spray bottle in their bag to be able to spray the blooms before photographs.  Photowalking through your community can provided some much needed exercise and you can also capture some moments of great beauty. Have an outstanding week and enjoy the colors of the season. Princess Lily, Kentlands, Flowers IMG_3516 Photograph by Roy Kelley using a Canon PowerShot G11 camera. Roy and Dolores Kelley Photographs

Photo Editing For Fun: iPiccy.com is FREE! Dahlias + Imagination at Brookside Gardens Dolores and I always enjoy our visits to Brookside Gardens, in Wheaton, Maryland.  My Saturday outing was my first photowalk since recent surgery.  It is always a pleasure to spend a few hours in beautiful gardens with a camera in hand. Recently, I photographed the annual Dahlia Show at Brookside Gardens.  The flowers were beautiful this year.  I edit all of the photographs on iPiccy.com before storing them in Flickr and posting them in Facebook albums.  When I want to use a photograph in a blog, I select the size on Flickr and just copy and past the picture to the blog. When I have time, I like to play with the colors of the images as an additional element of my hobby photography.  These are some of t...

Bees Love Chinese Chive Blossoms   One of the advantages of having Chinese Chives, or garlic chives, in your gardens is that they can be used in your Asian dishes and salads.  The late summer blossoms are also very pretty.  Use them as under plantings for hosta and the chive blossoms will rise above the hosta and will still be blooming after the hosta blooms are gone.  And, as you can see from the photographs, the bees love the Chinese Chive blossoms. Have a great week with your camera in hand.  This photograph was taken in our Kentlands home garden.
