GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM INSTALLED IN ST MARYS MARYLAND Part 2 If you review the initial stages of this installation you will find out more about the well drilling by Aqua Well Drilling, Callaway, MD.  This week Tri-Co AIRE , Mechanicsville, MD, finished installing our new Geothermal heating and cooling system.                        Out with the old (oil) and in with the new (geothermal).  I expected the furnaces to look totally different.  The pipes that lead from the bottom of the new furnace connect to the water supply.  On the back side of the new furnace is an electronic air filter.  One difference between the two furnaces is that the geothermal one can be enclosed.  I have some understanding of how the a vertical closed-loop system works but if you really want to know the technical  inf... 09/24/2010

NEW FORECLOSURE HELP FOR HOME OWNERS REALTOR MAGAZINE Daily Real Estate News  |  March 26, 2010  |   New Foreclosure Prevention Plan Announced  President Obama is announcing an expansion of foreclosure-prevent tactics, including a plan to reduce principal balances and special aid for unemployed borrowers.The bulk of the responsibility for carrying out the new program will be assigned to the Federal Housing Administration, which will insure lenders against part of the losses.The plan asks banks to write down loan balances to less than the value of the home. Sorry, I don't have more information but I thought this was important.  Let's hope that this is a program that employers can really use. It's all a part of stabilizing the financial market.  Obviously, for the housing market, the more residents that remain employed the more stable the housing market.  Mortgages can be paid and houses can be purchased. START A SPRING GARDEN IN SOUTHERN MARYLAND THINK SPRING!!  Get past all the snow and THINK SPRING!!  It doesn't seem possible with so much snow around, but when it is gone it will be time to plant. Start your garden inside in your home and get a head start.   If you plant tomato seeds in pots indoors mid-month, the seedlings will be ready to transplant into the garden after the last spring frost, typically the first or second week of April in Southern Maryland.   When the snow is gone prepare for your Sping Vegetable Garden.  Be sure it's not too wet.  Dig in some compost or well rotted manure and begin planting.  Collards, peas, radishes, spinach and turnips can go in any time this month.  Wait until the last week of February to put in potatoes.  Information originally shared in The Wa... 02/08/2010

MECHANICSVILLE MARYLAND HOUSES AND LAND FOR SALE St Marys County Commissioners agreed this week to put most of the lands on Mechanicsville MD east side in the Rural Preservation District.  They did this to avoid traffic and visual problems.  It's great news that the countryside is going to be preserved a few more years.  63 acres were set aside for higher residential use.
