If you did not listen closely you probably missed it!  At the forefront of most media outlets this past week was the ongoing turmoil on Wall Street, but at the bottom of the page in very small print was what should have been the headline, Existing Home Sales Rise by 5.5%!  No one wants the public to know this as negative news sells, but the National Association of Realtors reported on Friday that sales actually jumped up in August due to the fact that buyers are taking advantage of lower prices in many markets. A 1970s-era logo of Ocean City's famed white marlin leaping before a colorful sunset is coming soon to a license plate near you.  A monthlong survey posted on the town's Web site got 7,343 total votes and this design beat out two others with 3,463 votes in an Internet poll to determine which logo will someday soon turn your car's bumper into a mini-billboard for the resort. The Town Council, however, has final say as to what design gets sent to the Motor Vehicle Administration. Council members will hear more about it at tonight's meeting.   10/20/2008
