The 10 Best Days of Summer - Maryland State FairI love the Maryland State Fair, the exhibits, the animals, quilts, vegetables, and the food!!  What's your favorite fair food?  I think it's a toss-up between ribbon fries and funnel cake, well maybe cotton candy too.  Last year the fair was canceled due to Covid.  But, it's back this year and will run through Labor Day.Come out and support the 4-H Kids who have worked hard for 2 years now to raise their animals and make their exhibits and people in your community that have entered exhibits.   08/30/2021

Maryland State Fair 2020 CancelledThe latest casualty of Covid-19 in Maryland is the cancelation of the Maryland State Fair.  Over 500,000 people flock to the 11 Best Days of Summer every year and it is impossible for the Maryland State Fair to police social distancing and wearing of masks with that many people in one place at one time and keep everyone safe and healthy.  There will still be livestock showings but they will not be open to the public.I have attended the Maryland State Fair every year since I moved to Maryland and my kids and I have made it a family outing.  But, health and safety is paramount.  Hopefully, we'll all be back at the Fair next year.   08/05/2020

Today I went on an appointment to answer questions about putting a home on the market. This property is in a very desirable neighborhood, good schools, well built, great lot but... it needs major updating. Or TLC my translation is "tons of liquid cash."   My opinion was requested about these options. Do we put money into the house, rehab it, update  extensively and try to get the going price in the area? Do we market at a price that reflects the 'as is' condition and move it quickly?  Either way this home would sell. But I can only give my suggestions...I cannot make the decisions. They will call when they are ready. Now, I'm wondering which way they decide. Stay tuned...it may be a few months.     12/29/2016

 Every month a dozen plus girlfriends get together for dinner. We have known each other for over thirty years.   And each month the host picks a favorite restaurant or entertains at  home. Anybody want to guess what I do?Tonight was at Liberatore's in Timonium where we had excellent  food and superb service. Do You Need a New Mattress?I recently moved into my own place.  I think every Realtor should move at least once, it gives us a new perspective on helping our clients. In moving into my own place I found I needed some things.  I still have a small list but it's getting smaller and smaller and I'm getting really acquainted with Goodwill, both for donating what I no longer have a use for but also for picking up inexpensive things that I don't have. However, you probably can't or don't want to buy a mattress and box spring at Goodwill.  I needed a new mattress and box spring and shopped around.  I had almost decided on one at Big Lots when I checked out Craigslist.   I found a listing for new mattress and box spring for $150 so I called. Buy Fresh, Buy Local in Lutherville TimoniumThe local Farmer's Market is in full swing in Lutherville Timonium.  One of the unique things about this farmer's market in Timonium is that all the vendors are all local to the area and the products they sell are local to the area as well.  So, when you spend your food dollars here the money stays in the community.  The Farmer's Market is open weekly on Wednesdays from 10 am to 1pm, and it is conveniently located at the main gate to the Maryland State Fairgrounds just north of the digital sign. Discover the Dinosaurs I heard on the radio today about an exhibit coming to the Timonium Fairgrounds January 9 to 11th, 2015. This exhibit consists of 40 moving and replica museum quality dinosaurs that give attendees the opportunity to get up close and personal and touch the dinosaurs.   The exhibit is in the Cow Palace at the Timonium Fairgrounds January 9 -3pm to 9 pm January 10 - 10 am to 8 pm January 11 - 10 am to 7 pm Admission is $20 for adults, Children aged 2 - 12 and Seniors $18, children under 2 are free. The Timonium Baja Fresh has reopened as of August 2014! A little known secret of mine is that I really enjoy Baja Fresh food. Though we have the other usual fast food southwest/mexican eateriers around (other good places like Chipotle, Qdoba and the like,) I really like the flavors, especially the salsa, at Baja Fresh. The Timonium Baja Fresh had been closed for a very long time -- all winter, spring and most of summer. There was apparently a leak or problem from a business upstairs that completely ruined their space. There were signs stating that the place would be back. But after more than half a year being closed, I began to lose hope. I was pulling out of a shopping center across the street last week, and what did I see? The door opened! Someone came out. Spring finally made its' way to us here in Baltimore! We've still had some cold snaps, but in general, finally the trees are blooming, and my car is covered in pollen! :) We had crazy rain storms a few weeks ago that caused many homes to have basement leaks, some cars were flooded, and you may have heard about the street that collapsed in Downtown Baltimore. The insanity of the situation seemed to be taking control, and then, after the rain...the rainbow. It gave me a moment to stop, enjoy the beauty, and be grateful for all we have. A New Delicatessen Just Opened in Timonium   Miller’s Deli – Padonia Village Shopping Center   25 East Padonia Rd., Timonium, MD 21093   I got a coupon in the mail for a new deli that just opened in Timonium.  It was for a free corned beef sandwich.  Now, I love a good deli and I really like good corned beef.  So, I was in!!  My other half, Skip and I went to Miller's Deli today at noon.  When we opened the door the place was packed there were loads of people waiting for take out and the tables were full.  We almost left to come back another day but I was hungry and the serving person behind the counter beckoned me forward so we ventured in and ordered.    We ordered and managed to steal a table that had not been cleaned yet from the previous diners.  It took some time to get our table ... 01/15/2014
