JeannieBird Baking CompanyI was in Westminster, MD on Saturday to have lunch with my friend Megan. She recommended we go to JeannieBird Baking Company, she says: "Have I ever steered you wrong when it comes to food?" and she hasn't. I was not disappointed!!They have a small menu with all the items being made right there.  I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on a flatbread and it was amazing. I judged every place on their chicken salad and for dessert, I got a chocolate croissant (also made in-house) and Megan had a spinach and feta croissant and a fruit tart. The service was amazing, after lining up to make my order, someone brought my coffee to our table and refilled it a couple of times and checked on us to make sure we were okay and the owner came by to talk to us as well. JeannieBird...

I attended and presented a property at a "Show & $ell" event.  Today’s event was held at Maggie's in Westminster. A quaint restaurant and bar and in Westminster with a legacy that goes back to the early 1900’s.   It was great fun and way out of my comfort zone. My neighbor said her friend owns Jeannie Bird Baking Company on Historic Main Street in Westminster and was a great place to grab a breakfast sandwich and order some baked goodies to go. My husband and I headed out on a Friday morning to do just that and be on our way to do some errands in Westminster. It was well worth the stop because you can order your egg sandwich the way you like it and the coffee was excellent.   Everything is baked fresh so my sandwich was on the multigrain roll which was yummy. My husband ordered his on a pumpkin biscuit, but he thought it was too dry for his liking. The fresh brewed coffee came with refills and the bakery goods were perfect. Do Short Sales Affect Neighborhood Values? When a for sale sign goes up in any neighborhood, it is not apparent whether or not it is being sold as a short sale or a standard sale. Although it is allowable to have these type of sign riders, the sellers may feel there is a stigma, so why advertise it?   The house may sell quickly, and neighbors may be curious why the sign is up so long, but a short sale can take much longer than just a buyer and seller agreeing to the terms of a contract in order for it to close within 30-45 days. There is a delay since a "third party approval" is required for the bank to accept the sale amount that is lower than the mortgage balance. That can take 60-90 days, and sometimes longer. Once in awhile it can be very quick, but that is an acception to the rule!...

Should You Work With A Neighborhood or Area Specialist?    The answer is yes, even though there are factors to consider. I know it was hard for me when a best friend who had used me to sell a family member's house informed me that they were moving and were deciding who to hire between two very active agents who both lived in their neighborhood. My feelings were bruised because I had an in depth knowledge of their house and I had listed and sold some homes in their neighborhood as well. I also had the same access to the same pricing data as every other agent had. Today is still part of the 12 days of Christmas and I am glad we still have our Christmas tree and lighted Dickens Village up as I look out the bay window at the first snow of 2015 in Carroll County MD! As you can see, the table top village continues on the floor with a train that goes under the table and the Victoria Station is in the middle. There is an ice skating ring with motion, a mill house, a farm house and barn with animals under the tree!   When we moved to the Sun Valley neighborhood in Taylorsville I collected some of the Dept 56 pieces of my already established Dickens Village collection from the wonderful Christmas Shop that was near the corner of Rt26 and Rt27. The Westminster MD  Miracle on Main Street Electric Holiday Parade was a huge success! The annual parade is a fun family event for all ages. In Carroll it is a commencement of the holiday season.   The frosty temps didn’t stop the participants or the crowd from having a wonderful time. There were high school marching bands, a baton twirling champion, creative holiday floats created by local businesses and walking groups, like our group, members of Carroll County REALTORS® Association and our amazing supportive family members (Claire and I bundled up pictured above) handing out candy and wishing folks a Merry Christmas! Thanks again to the City of Westminster, MD Recreation and Parks  for putting together Miracle on Main Street Electric Holiday Parade, Westminster MD.

Carroll County Farmers Market, September 6th   Saturday, September 6, 2014 is the Carroll County Farmers’ Market Harvest Weekend.  This is the last date of the Summer Season at the Carroll County Farmers’ Market.
