The Ann Arbor Farmers Market is located in the Kerry Town section of Ann Arbor. Every May through December the Farmers Market is open on Wednesdays and Sundays from 7 AM to 3 PM. On October 30th, the farmers market is holding the 2nd annual pumpkin festival for kids. The kids can come dressed in their Halloween costumes and "Trick or Treat" with all the vendors. While supplies last there will be a pumpkin carving activity between 1 and 3.                                             October 30th is the Saturday before Halloween so all the wonderful fall vegetables, and flowers will be there. After the kids trick or treat and participate in the all the activities, free cider and donuts will be served in KerryTown. Read the reviews on Yelp, with maps to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market. One of Ann Arbor's cultural icons, the Blackbird Theatre, has established its permanent nest at the SH\'aut\ Cabaret and Gallery, 325 Braun Court in Kerrytown - right across from the Farmers Market. After a year of experimenting with various locations and after seven years at the Children's Creative Center on Pauline Boulevard,  the Blackbird has roosted in its new spot. Founding artistic director Barton Bund feels confident that the company will continue to grow and thrive in its new locale.Last Tuesday evening, Bund's celebration of the Blackbird's new home also ushered in a new era of dynamic, cutting-edge artistic endeavor for downtown Ann Arbor. In addition to  consistently offering a diverse body of original work, the Blackbird offers free educational programs, and performance opp...

Kerrytown is in the heart of Ann Arbor. See Ann Arbor Kerrytown Video. You may know Kerrytown as the collection of eclectic food and retail shops that occupy an old, long-since-converted factory building near the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market. But according to Kerrytown District Association president Deanna Relyea, Kerrytown actually extends several blocks down to Depot Street on the north and even reaches across Huron Street to include the Performance Network to the south. Hands on Museum? It's in Kerrytown. Zingerman's? Yep, that's Kerrytown too. Kerrytown Market and Shops owner Joe O'Neal made a conscious decision to rent space to locally-owned businesses - to choose a Sweetwater's over a Starbucks - for example. It's just one of those things that has helped preserve the historic neighbo...

Vying for the largest price per square foot for Ann Arbor land transactions in history is a parcel of land just north of the Ann Arbor City Hall and southeast of Kerrytown.  Currently it houses five historic rental homes and two vacant lots and is listed for sale at $11 million which equates to $360/sqft.  Aside from a healthy asking price, this parcel also most likely comes with a worthy battle.  All five homes located on the parcel are over 100 years old and would likely face strong demolition opposition from local historical preservationists.  In fact, the only way the commission could approve demolition on these properties is if they were deemed structurally unsound or unwanted by overall community vote.  Right now they are considered, "contributing resources" to the historic distri...

Support local Michiganders and delight in surprise offerings I love to go to the markets in our area; you can't beat the quality of really fresh food. Ann Arbor Farmers Market Manager Molly Notarianni suggests shopping without a list – it'll help you stay flexible to take advantage of the wonderful and unexpected. If you're looking for something special, call the manager. The 150-vendor farmer's market in Ann Arbor's Kerrytown (315 Detroit St) has been around since 1918 and is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays (hours?). Come early for the best selection, or shop for bargains at the end of the day. Most vendors appreciate cash. For information call 734-994-3276. There's another Ann Arbor market in the Zingerman's Roadhouse parking lot at the corner of Jackson and Maple Roads. It runs Thur...

One of the best parts of selling Ann Arbor real estate is bringing clients to Zingerman's Deli for meals. Finding the best Ann Arbor homes for sale requires a nourishing break here at my favorite restaurant! Ann Arbor has so many top restaurants, but this is quick and memorable - after all you never forget the best! The Zingermans story is an interesting one - this once quaint Ann Arbor delicatessen is today a multi-million dollar powerhouse. What began in 1982 in a small Kerrytown grocery store has grown to a 500+ employee company spread over seven separate businesses. Unlike most businesses Zingermans promotes "open book finances", encouraging employees to think and act like owners. This ownership culture has helped the once small deli to blossom over the years. View the Zingerman's D...
