Crime and safety is a big issue for Michigan relocation buyers when they come to look at homes in Metro Detroit.  It does not matter if they live in Michigan already or if they are coming to metro Detroit because of a job offer.  Most home buyers want to live in a town that does not have a lot of crime.  Did you know if you live in a town that has higher crime rate you are going to pay more for car and home owners insurance.  Sometimes for the money you pay extra for insurance in a high crime area you can live in a lower crime area. Here are 6 safe cities in Oakland County MI.  Oakland County is northern suburb of Metro Detroit.  It lies directly north and northwest of downtown Detroit.6 safe cities in suburbs of Detroit Commerce MI West Bloomfield Michigan Royal Oak MI Wixom Michigan Mi...

Moving to Milford MI Are you looking to move to Milford for a job and wondering what Milford Michigan is like? (maybe you are getting a job at GM's proving ground).  Milford is a great community to live in.  Milford is in southwestern Oakland County and is one of the best places to live in Michigan. Niche gives it an A grade and ranks Milford as the 43rd best city in Michigan to live.  Living in Milford offers residents a great downtown area.  Milford has a quaint, friendly feel. Let me tell you real estate transactions are not always smooth.   Whether it is an Oakland County Lake home or a Wayne County colonial some real estate transactions can sometimes be trying.  The majorit of real estate transactions do go as planned.  But there are many little things that can go sideways.  It's not like the buyer, home inspector,  appraiser, or the mortgage lender are trying to sabotage the deal.  That is one of the biggest misconceptions that sellers make.  They automatically assume the buyer or somebody is trying to kill the deal.  That is so untrue.  As an agent I have to tell some sellers that over and over that the buyer is not trying to kill the deal.  The majority of buyers are trying to buy the house.  They are not trying to throw up obstacles. If you as a seller c...

Let's talk today about who are the top Milford real estate agents?  If you look at ads for real estate agents in Milford Michigan you will see many will claim to be #1 in their office, company, or area.  I hate to say it but some agents will out and out lie.  Some may be #1 for listing but not getting them sold.  You really don't know what #1 really means.  What is important to you is that you hire a Milford realtor that helps you and is honest.  When you look for a Milford MI realtor you want to look for a real estate agent that is not out for themselves.  An agent that is not going to be looking to line their pocket with your money.I recently had a client hire me simply because I was honest.  They were just listing a small house in Highland.  It was a mess.  They had inherited it and ...

Looking for a bargain in a seller's market is next to impossible.  It is more appropriate to say that it is hard enough to get a home offer accepted when it is a hot Metro Detroit sellers real estate market.  It doesn't matter if it is a Livonia home for sale, or a Berkley home for sale when it is a seller's real estate market you have to be quick.  You have to get out and see the homes as quick as possible.  So you either need to be searching on line by yourself or you need to have an automatic email set up so you receive home listings daily or as soon as they hit the market. Getting the home listings and the latest homes for sale daily is so important so you do not miss out on the deals.  Then once you have reviewed the Metro Detroit homes for sale daily you need to get out and see th...

Do you have an Oakland County relocation in your future?  Then you should consider moving to Milford.  Yes there are many great communities in Oakland County Michigan.  Oakland County is the wealthiest county in Metro Detroit.  So many communities with great schools, low crime rates, and that have all the stores you are used to.  So why move to Milford Michigan? Milford is what I would call a cross between a semi urban and urban community.  You still have that country feel, yet there are so many city conveniences nearby.  Yes you can find real estate in Milford that has large lot, or historic homes too. Milford is really tow communities.  The City of Milford and Milford Township.  The city has about a 4 block long downtown area full of unique little stores, restaurants, bakeries, coffee...

Nestled between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is a relatively new named shopping day – Small Business Saturday. This Shop Small day was originally an American Express promotional idea that has taken on an identity of its own. The basic idea and thrust behind this can be summed up in another oft heard phrase – Shop local or there won’t be any local.   The danger to small local businesses has never been greater. The small retail shops that make up the Main Street stores of America are under tremendous pressure from both the big box stores and from the Internet. There is just no way for your local toy store or clothing store or shoe store to compete on price with the big box stores. Instead many emphasize that they have products that you just won’t find in the big box stores or they may ha...

Halloween has become the second largest annual holiday, as far as sales of decorations and stuff to celebrate the day, right after Christmas. It’s a fun holiday without a lot of patriotic, emotional or religious trappings. One could be tempted to say it’s a holiday for the kids; but, that would ignore all of the Halloween parties that adults seem to like to dress up in costume and attend. For me Halloween has somehow come to symbolize the passing of another year. I guess it’s feeling that we might be enjoying the last gasp of whatever decent weather we’ve had and that it’s then time to head into winter. In the Huron Valley there are also some fun events in advance of Halloween night. On Saturday, October 26, the downtown merchants of Milford host the 7th annual BOO BASH! This wonderful ...
