If you currently have a home in Blaine MN (The Lakes, The TPC or The Sanctuary) you have a very good chance of selling it depending on what you need to get out of it.  I currently have 5 buyers that are looking for that perfect house in this area and they don't see what they like.   Part of the problem is that it looks like there are more homes for sale than there actually is.  Bank owned homes and Short sales will not change their status from active (for sale) to pending (under contract) until they close.  The agent will leave it active to invite backup offers, but the property is technical sold still show to the home buyer as for sale.   For those out there who see alll the real estate for sale signs in their neighborhood and think that they can't sell their home;  I have got news fo...

At the tail end of January, my Growth Leader site, servingblaine.com went active. This is my first experience with a lead generation system so I had no preconceived notions of what to expect. My expectations were high based on the results other agent were getting from their Growth Leader test sites around the country that had started a few months earlier. On January 23rd, I had my first lead. Not so great as it was specific to a downtown rental but one day one lead. Not too bad. Now after just four weeks in the program, I have had 106 prospects sign up at my site. Last week, I had 16 leads come in during one 24 hour period. That is an attention grabbing amount of leads! Here's the drill down: 106 Total Leads 3 New (Just came in since last night) 8 Retry (Came in during the last 3 days.....

The number of new listings has dropped significantly in Blaine, Minnesota right along with the average sales price. This is no doubt due to the fact that Blaine's high valued home market in prices $500,000 and up is stagnant while the new townhomes and foreclosure/short sale homes in the lower price points continue to sell. Closed sales are up for Blaine in 2008 over 2007 so the market is moving. But listings are staying on the market for an average of almost a month longer than the previous year. Blaine still has an abundant home inventory and with prices down and sellers negotiating, this could be an affordable option for a north metro homebuyer! If you are buying, selling or relocating to Minnesota and need help from a professional REALTOR®, give me a call or visit my website for a ...

Last week on the way home from an orthodontist appointment for my son we detoured down a Blaine street following a bright pink sign advertising a late season garage sale. We turned into a dead end road but not a single garage door was opened on this cold gray early morning but we discovered an even more exciting treasure...Another Uniquely Minnesota Artful distraction. At the end of the cul de sac there was the remnants of a beautiful perennial garden. In the center of the garden, surrounded by wood chips and hostas with leaves starting to yellow, was a wonderfully carved display of wooden roses. Now I know Marie Osmond had a hit with Paper Roses way back when, but these wooden American Beauties are really something to sing about! Good thing I had my camera with as we were going to take...

A decade ago when we made our move to Anoka County, unique sites along the road often surprised us. There were the little buildings resembling outhouses near the end of every driveway. These of course are shelters for children waiting for the school bus. There were hawks on roadside power lines looking down to the road or a sod field looking for its next meal to run by. And then there would be something amazing to really stop you in your tracks...Something that looks like a steel dragon! When we first saw this Artful Distraction in Blaine, it was nose to nose with its mirror image. The pair of shining steel sculptures glistened as they blocked the driveway and guarded the entry to the property. I have to admit, I have never noticed the actual home they protect but when looking at these ...

Not sure the sport bottle you drink from or the container you ear your lunch out of is safe? There has been a lot of hype in the media lately about this. I did some digging and found a great article written by Mimi Brodeur of Newhouse News Service that explains what those numbers, and others, really mean to the average consumer.  J.B. Anderson J.B.Anderson Inspections Inc. ############# Some hard plastics may pose health risks while some lightweight plastics are recommenede for a single use only and some plastics are problem free. When it comes to plastic bottles, the clue is the number that lies at the bottom of the container inside the triangular recycling symbol Number 1:  Polyethylene terephthalate (PET). A lightweight plastic that is used to make a slew of beverage bottles from sof...
