The annual FireWater Celebration in Kansas City this year was a blast!  Photos taken on iPhone but you get the idea. Floating fires are lit in the middle of Brush Creek after sundown.   The bands set up on the bridges. Fire jugglers performed up on top of the bridges, under the bridges and along the shore. Check on YouTube for live action.   Plaza III, The Capital Grill and Houston's were among the food and drink vendors. There were loads of people at FireWater but it doesn't feel crowded because of the constant movement of performers going from one stage to the next. I was shocked when learning that two people I know support the Highwoods plan for tearing down the Neptune and building an office tower in its' place. Listening to their perspective made me realize that they do not have accurate information. No one is against developing the Plaza to support growth, business development and jobs. What many people are not aware of is that there are multiple sites on the Plaza which are suitable for supporting a building of the size and structure that Highwoods has proposed to go in place of the Neptune. The building codes and Plaza Plan have several places for an office tower which would fit in nicely with existing structures and also accommodate the additional traffic.
