Here are a couple of shots from this winter from my good friend Travis Andersen.  You can check out his work at www.travisandersenphotography.com.  He has some of the best scenic shots of the Gallatin Valley in Montana that I have seen.  These make great closing gifts, or a great gift for yourself. As I write this it is still snowing here in MT.  We are at over 100% snow-pack, so the summer is promising to be a good one.  As much as I enjoy to ski I am ready to hit the golf course, and also anticipate getting to the river for some fishing. Things in the Real Estate world are really popping here in Bozeman.  I have been involved in some bidding wars on exceptionally valued homes and have had two deals go under contract in the last week.  I look forward to a strong summer with lots of buy...

I was dropping my son at school, two blocks west and eight blocks south when Main Street Bozeman exploded. Though folks on the ground felt the blast ten blocks away, my son and I, having been in my truck during the explosion, heard and saw nothing except wailing police cars. Just exiting the truck on West College, we made our way into his school, as we did every day, noting the throng of police cars racing north through thick Willson Avenue morning traffic, toward what we surmised was some major traffic accident downtown. It was only at the office that I heard what had happened; with no knowledge anyone was missing, my mind went to the loss of our favorite restaurant, Boodles, a quaint, unassuming, upscale restaurant you might find in Boston or Dublin...

Updated: March 13, 2009 06:41 AM MDT The cause of the explosion and fire that rocked downtown Bozeman last week is expected to be released Friday morning. Officials had planned to provide the public with the results of the investigation on Thursday, but Bozeman City Manager Chris Kukulski said that they need to get the okay from a Gallatin County District Judge. "All the information gathered in the investigation is considered confidential criminal justice information, which by law we are prohibited from releasing without a court order. We are anticipating that order being signed (Friday) morning." Kukulski said that although the city thinks it needs a court order to release the cause of the blast, that does not mean criminal charges are being filed. Last week's explosion leveled three...

Whoever first said, "Good things come in small packages" must've had Robyn Erlenbush in mind. Since the petite dynamo whirled into Bozeman 27 years ago, she has enriched the community with her time, talent, enthusiasm and support.      Raised on a cattle and sheep ranch near Baker, Montana, Robyn credits her work ethic, determination and gratitude to working on the ranch. She comes from hardy stock: her 75-year-old mother later operated the 4,000-acre ranch single handedly.        Robyn's passion for the arts took her to Arizona State University, the same school her son Alex is now attending. After receiving her degree in Music, Robyn returned home to teach. Along came banker, Orville Erlenbush, and the two married.       "We were living in Sidney, and I was waiting to be certified to t...
