The Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival, scheduled for June 5-6 at Kenton Place in Cornelius, has released a list of wineries that have made early commitments to participate in the event. Westmoreland Athletic Complex Cornelius, NC has finally broke ground and should be ready for play by next year. The Town of Cornelius, as well as, the Lake Norman region has been waiting some time now for this project to begin. Here is a recent article from the Charlotte Observer that explains why Cornelius is excited about the new complex: Construction began in Feburary for the Westmoreland Athletic Complex. Cornelius, NC has approved the construction of a new interchange on Catawba Ave and I-77. If all goes well, state highway officials will begin construction next February on a revolutionary new interchange design at Catawba Avenue and Interstate 77 that should greatly reduce congestion and crashes. What can be better than that? The new "diverging diamond" design will cost a mere fraction - 85 percent less - than the new bridge the N.C. Department of Transportation originally had in mind.
