Fayetteville, NC Real Estate News

At ERA Strother Real Estate in Fayetteville, NC we are very proactive in the training of our agents.  Today we had a two hour block of training on the subject of appraisals presented by Dennis Chew, Appraiser. Dennis was very thourough in his coverage of the subject and it's apparent that he has been conducting appraisals for quite some time and has quite a vast knowledge of the subject.  The subject matter was put forth in a very straightforward manner that was both entertaining and educational. One of the subjects he spoke of was that of "allowances" often made by seller's when listing a property for sale.  For those not familiar with this term it refers to things such as carpet allowance or painting allowance, where the seller is not going to actually be the one making the repairs, y...

Top 10 ways to help out your inspector Confirm with your Realtor ® that the utilities are on and pilot lights are burning. Make sure the inspector has access to any keys, alarm or entrance codes. Tell the inspector about any areas of concern or things that you may be "worried" about. Make certain to give accurate information during the ordering process. Receiving your report on our web site is easy unless the supplied email address for you is incorrect. Read the Inspection Agreement carefully. Misconceptions about what the inspector will, and won't do can often be taken care of by just reading this agreement. Also be certain to sign this, while you are with your agent, or just ask your agent to sign it.  Allow yourself a little time to look at the inspector's web site. As a home Buyer, ...

Imagine your first home purchase, your next home purchase or you last home purchase.  What an exciting time, a time of anticipation and stress.  A time of worry and intense dreams.  You want the process to go as smoothly as possible and the closing to come quickly and painlessly. What could possibly go wrong?  Believe it or not...a lot of things.  Something going wrong is the last thing the seller and especially the buyer wants to happen, especially if there are short time lines on either side for the move. What can be done to  find the problems before they become major issues?  That's right...a home inspection.  I always suggest a home inspection be done by a seller of a home prior to listing a home to discover any problems that might possibly cause the transfer of the property to be...

Ok,  I really did have every intention of going Downtown and checking out 4th Friday.  However duty calls, and in this case my clients had to come first - especially when they come from 10 hours away to look for homes.  So I have to wait.  Due to the circumstances I am not too bummed.  I did however discover the Cape Fear River Trail last weekend & it has officially earned the title of "My New Favorite Park". It is 5 miles of a truly enjoyable walk, located off Ramsey St.   Tranquil scenery, covered bridges, and other little treasures make this park the perfect place to get away for the day.  I took my 2 dogs who enjoyed a little swim in a pond at the 2.5 mile mark, I have yet to make it the full 5 miles one way - but its good to have goals.

Fayetteville, NC -The only Keller Williams Realty office located in Fayetteville, NC is moving to a new building.   Moving from the original home where the Keller Williams office was started around four years ago, Keller Williams is making it's mark on the Fayetteville, NC real estate market. The new and completely modern office is located at 639 Executive Place in Fayetteville, NC.  While the office is not being moved far, just across the street so to speak, the agents are looking forward to getting settled in their new home.  Much planning and hard work has gone into the creation of the new office. Come experience the new office with it's beautiful ceramic tile floors, dark hardwood entries and spacious signing and children's entertainment rooms.  The new office space brings all of ...

This has been a busy week....our office is moving to a new location nearby.  639 Executive Place.  Fayetteville, NC 28305.  I plan on celebrating the end of a busy work week, and the move to a new building by trying Fayetteville's Fourth Friday downtown.  Each fourth friday, thousands of people venture downtown to participate in the Art Council Event.  Its a chance for people to check out exhibits, entertainment, refreshments and featured artists.  Looking at the Art Council site (theartscouncil.com) they compare it with an old fashion "gallery crawl".  I plan on checking out some of the galleries, the local small bistros and the local Piano bar, where I hear they have dualing pianos and other fun activities to get the audience involved. I will let you all know how it turns out, maybe s...

I had a late closing today with an attorney I have never worked with.  We waited in the lobby area for them to do whatever for about 25 mins.  Finally we were called to the back.  The gentleman/attorney motions for us to go into a particular room and he starts his professional brief without hesitation.  He finally got to the last page so congratulations were in order for my client.  She then proceeded to ask him who he was.  He had a flustered look on his face as he introduced himself.  We laughed about him being the "overdressed" janitor that would make the closing null and void.  Would someone eventually burst into the room because they couldn't find him anywhere else in the building to find him sitting with us???  My client and I laughed all the way to our cars.

Now that the summer is here and school is out, my girls have to have something to do.  That will be the only way I maintain my sanity until school starts again.  Well today's venture was cheerleading practice for my oldest who is on the JV Team for Jack Britt HS.  My youngest had her first day in gymnastics.  I see (and hear) her flipping all over the house.  Today she was cartwheeling her heart out, tumbling with her braids all over the place and as happy as a lark.  I always tell them that school will be more important than these extracurricular activities so they must keep their grades up.  Ft. Bragg offers many of these activities through the MWR and there are many facilities off post.  Some of the activities on Ft. Bragg are golf clubs, cooking clubs, bunco tournaments and several ...

Fayetteville is growing and changing.  There is the downtown revitalization going on and there is the Cape Fear Valley Hospital expansion, these are both well known.  Here are 5 other "Hot Spots" around town that are growing and changing...take a drive around the area if you have not been in a while. •1.     North Spring Lake - There is some speculation as to the housing boom that may occur in the future.  There has been some retail development over the past few years, which have really made Spring Lake a more desirable place to call home to people.  Close to Fort Bragg, and Pope this area offers convenience as well.  Keep an eye on this region. •2.     Hope Mills - Experiencing rapid growth that started with the addition of a Wal-Mart a few years back.  The Grays Creek and Waldo's Beac...

Fayetteville NC as we all know is home to Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. We had a visit from one of the most recognizable military figures in American History. As a Veteran and a political junkie, I was excited to get a chance to meet Col. Oliver North. The central figure in the Iran-Contra controversy during the Reagan Administration.
