FEATURED LISTINGS Early information has confirmed that Faison, a development company has purchased somewhere around 60 acres of land in Huntersville. In researching the exact location I believe it to be off of Beaties Ford Road near Hambright Road and backing up to Sample Road in Huntersville. If this were true the plat of land purchased would start around Hambright Road near Hopewell High School, go behind the Beaties Ford Memorial Gardens and end backing right up to Sample Road. The Retreat at Latta Plantation will include around 70 3/4 acre lots at 130 feet wide. As far as I know the luxury home builders have not been chosen yet. Marquee Builders of Cornelius is thought to be one of the 2 or 3 builders that will be chosen for the project. Home prices will start in the $600's and will...

As a Huntersville resident I am extremely hopeful in regards to the train coming to Huntersville.  I think it would be a wonderful addition to our growing town.  It would be great to hop on the train to avoid the cluster of traffic that Huntersville residents experience on a daily basis.  Not to mention, it would simply give more transportation options to people that live in the type of town that has multiple options for everything else, from restaurants to banks to schools and let's not forget housing.  Huntersville has everything to offer except a train.  I am confident that CATS and the town of Huntersville will be able to figure out a way to fund and build this much needed and desired mode of transportation.  What are your thoughts on whether or not the northern corridor would benef...

If you haven't had the opportunity to visit Vermillion yet, you are missing out!  Personally, it is my favorite neighborhood in Huntersville because it has that small town feel within the subdivision itself.  Of course, Vermillion is part of the greater town of Huntersville, but by having its own village center, which includes Harveys Bar and Grill, it really feels like it's own charming little town.  Not to mention the fact that people of many different price ranges can call Vermillion home.  Of the 10 homes that are currently on the market, they range in price between $225,000 and $569,000, with an average list price of $312,305.  That can appeal to quite a few wallets!  The neighborhood also offers a pool for the residents to enjoy in the warmer months. There are more than 200 homes i...

I live in Monteith Place in Huntersville.  My husband and I were the first residents nearly three and a half years ago.  The homes are priced in the low $200,000's which makes it very affordable to get a great quality home in an awesome location!  As a real estate broker for Keller Williams Realty, I have recently sold three homes in Monteith Place that all sold rather quickly, each under the average days on market for the area.  The neighborhood appeals to people for so many reasons aside from the aesthetics of the tree lined streets and quaint exterior construction of the homes.  It is located close to Birkdale Village and Northlake Mall for great local shopping. The neighborhood is within walking distance from the Huntersville Athletic Park and the Huntersville Fitness and Acquatics ...

An interesting article appeared in Friday's Charlotte Observer. Due to copyright laws, I can not do a simple copy/paste, so I will do my best to summarize for you. The article can be found online at http://www.charlotte.com/, at least for the time being. In an article titled "Price trends? Area stats among nation's best", columnist Allen Norwood brings out some very interesting details. According to this article, the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) issued a press release that had said that in the South, the Charlotte region (known as Charlotte-Gastonia-Concord) had the strongest SFR price increase. The current average according to the information was at $220,100 which is UP 11% from a year ago. According to the article, the press release was from earlier last week, and covered the...

While the talk around the nation has been decidedly bad regarding home prices, the Charlotte area, which includes Charlotte, Gastonia, and Concord just posted the largest increase median value increase in the south.  The median house price rose to $220,000, up 11% for single family homes in the third quarter.  The second highest increase was Baumont - Port Arthur Texas.  Unfortunately, don't look for this to be reported on the cover of USA Today or the Wall Street Journal.  Instead, you will probably read - US MEDIAN HOME PRICES DOWN 2%.  I don't even think the Charlotte Observer ran the story.  But this is great news, but news we've already known.  As a local real estate professional, I expect this trend to continue for three reasons.  First, people are still overwhelming moving to the...

In The Zone!Over the last year there have been a number of areas along the Beaties Ford road corridor that have been rezoned and approved for development. This area has been under the watchful eye of the city planning board for a few years now. The majority of town officials have been against the development of this area. I have even heard the words green zone used for this area. It has been said that in this green zone residential homes were to sit on an acres and a half of land in order to slow down the number of houses being built in the area. Like most areas around Charlotte and Lake Norman there are just not enough space in the schools to continue to build homes at the rate things were going. School and ParkIn recent months a new elementary school (Bradley Elementary) has started c...

Huntersville, NC is one of my favorite places this time of year. With the seasons changing and the holidays approaching, the southern charm of Huntersville just stands out! The friendliness of the people really comes to life!As you drive around Huntersville you will see the holiday spirit coming to life. Lights are going up, decorations are being put in place and trees are getting trimmed for the holidays. The southern charm of this city already makes it a wonderful place to live, but add the holiday spirit on top of that and you just can't help but make n...
