Charlotte’s Spring season is ushered in on the March winds.  Those brisk March winds also bring residents of Lake Park NC their annual kite festival. The Lake Park Kite Festival takes place on Saturday March 17th from 10am to 2pm.  It’s held at Founders Park, a large level open space in the center of some of Lake Park’s residential areas. I visited the Kite Festival a few years ago.  Brightly colored kites filled the air in Founders Park.  It was fun to watch families launch their kites with kids of all ages trying their hand at keeping the kites aloft.  A local kite-flying club provided kite-flying demonstrations.  The festival included other activities for children as well. The 2011 Lake Park NC Real Estate Market—Four Facts It's time to look at the real estate market in Lake Park NC and to assess how home buyers and home sellers fared in 2011. Lake Park NC Real Estate Market Report—July-September 2011 After a big increase in single family home sales during the second quarter of 2011, Lake Park NC home sales dropped back to five homes, a number similar to the first quarter.  The median sales price in the third quarter, however, increased to a high of $150,000 for the year.  Days on market increased over the first half of 2011 to 78 days. Townhome sales continued to be slow with only one unit sold during the period.  The price was $72,500, below previous quarters and below 2010 numbers. Lake Park NC Real Estate Market Report—April-June 2011 Lake Park NC is a small town planned around a number of parks and lakes with a small town center as its hub.  Lake Park was designed to accommodate homeowners of all life stages from singles to young families to seniors.  A variety of housing types was built in Lake Park to accommodate these lifestyles. Lake Park NC Real Estate Market Report—Year 2010 How did the Lake Park NC real estate market fare during 2010 and how did 2010 market activity compare with 2009 and 2008? The tables below compare the Lake Park NC real estate market for years 2008 through 2010.  Lake Park is a small town with fewer sales than other areas of Union County.  24 single family homes and 12 townhomes closed in Lake Park in 2010.  The highest priced single family home sale was $280,000.  The highest priced townhome sale was $163,000.  Median days on the market jumped for  both single family homes and townhomes.  The median list to sale ratio in 2010 was 97% for single family homes and 96% for townhomes. Lake Park NC Real Estate Market Report—July-September 2010 How did the Lake Park NC real estate market fare in the third quarter of 2010 and how does 2010 market activity compare with 2009? Where can you find the Lake Park NC community in March?  The answer is the annual Kite Festival sponsored by the Lake Park Homeowners Association.  Last Saturday the skies were bright blue and sunny and the cool wind was brisk, a perfect day in Lake Park for the festival.  Village residents converged on Founders Park where children of all ages tried their hand at kite flying.  The festival included demonstrations by a kite-flying club and other activities for neighborhood children.
