The Community Leaders, in Catawba county have landed a deal with Target. They are going to build a 1.6 million square feet distribution center. This facility will employ approximately 1000 people. This area is feeling the effect of furniture leaving the US and welcomed the oppertunity to diversify our community. There was concern about water consumption and growth in the area however this facility will consume much less water than a textile plant which was a large source of employment for this area at one time.
