We have all heard that the sellers say that they never hear from us.  Well...I have made it a point t o reach out to my listings at least once a month. Our office gives us our statistics for each month and do a comparison with the previous month.  This is a part of our Monthly Sales Meeting. Once those stats are provided to us.  I convert the charts  and graphs to a jpeg and insert this into the body of my email that I send out to all of my listings.  The email is a letter giving them general information regarding the market and what we have sold  for the previous month in comparrison with what we  sold the precious year.  All of the information I pull direct from MLS.  So this email has 4 pages of                   1.  Letter with Stats                   2.  My colorful Ad with pictu...

One of the biggest things that we are faced with still in our area, is the dreams of what was going on in 2004 and  2005.  That day is gone. What we have to do as a Realtor and as a professional is to educate our buyers as to TODAY'S Market.  We all sold properties in 2005 that we are having to sell for half of what they sold during the HayDAys!When I have a seller  to call me and say that they bought in 2005 and HAVE to SELL  right a way..I just cringe.Who knew?  This is a nationwide happening, not a local problem. We have to be honest with our sellers and give them the facts.  And hopefully we will be able to relieve some of their pain. Ginger of Southport.

Love that song.  Used to sing it a  lot. But  today is a rejuvenating day for me.  I have just enjoyed the day.  Not doing anything that I don't have today.  Although I may need to can figs preserves tonight.  But basically, I am having a day off.The only thing that i have to do later in the day...is to go to the deck with Jimmy and see the sun set and the pelicans finding their way home!  and  I do plan to do that.Hope that you have been able  to have a relaxing Saturday too.

This is going to be a fun filled weekend with family and friend for the holiday.  It has been a  great day with them all. We started the weekend out by fixing a great spagetti supper for 14 to enjoy.  Going on with nice roast beef with rice and gravy, peas, string beans, corn, spiced apples, biscuits with Peach cobbler for dessert.Today the children swam in the creek, did some crabbing, went to the ocean for swim and washed off in the pool...then we ate barbecued ribs and chicken for a late dinner. This is a special time remembering those who have fought so valiantly to defend this great county of ours. God Bless.Ginger of Southport

Living along the coast of North Carolina, between Myrtle Beach SC and Wilmington NC, we are subject to a lot of wind and rain as a result of Ana.  We are getting rain bands even now. Ana is not a hurricane yet but a strong tropical storm.  I think the the wind gust are about 60 MPH right now.  It is expected to come ashore about 2 PM...close to us.  Right on the North Carolina ~ South Carolina border, Usually treacherous rip tides happen with this kind of storm.    Be particularly careful is swimming this weekend.. Happy Mother's Day to all you Mothers..

Retirement Insecurity and Social Security      According to a new Gallup poll, retirement worries are on the rise.  The poll found that a majority (52%) of non-retired Americans now doubt they will have enough money to live comfortably once they retire.  This represents an 18% increase from five years ago.  According to the Employee Benefits Research Institute, one out of four Americans has decided to delay their age of retirement in the past year.   The Gallup poll also indicated that a large percentage of Americans approaching retirement do not understand social security retirement benefits.  Many fear that social security will not be there when they reach retirement.  With the leading edge of the baby boomers (those born in 1946) reaching 62 this year, there is a lot ...

This is a normal  thing for us. We love the weather channel and keeping up with what  is going on with the weather that is going to  affect us. Right now there is a tropical depressions that may be the early makings of a hurricane.  This seems so very early for a hurricane to be brewing in our neck of the woods.. Do you have big weather events near You? Maybe this one will pass us by.  Not ready to deal with that at this point.. Ginger of Southport
