Today is a wonderful Saturday and Jimmy and I are taking off to spend time with our Grandchildren.  WE usually work 24/7 and we think we need a break.  First thing we had to do was to go to Walmart and buy the School Supplies and other items needed for the start of the School Year. (Must say we dropped a bundle for 3 of them)  Lots of fun to say "if you need it , get it"..) Lunch in...and then to the beach.  AFter the beach, we will come back to house and rest for a bit and then off to Putt-putt! Then a few movies in the evening...and that will complete a festive exacting day with the grandchildren. Hope you are enjoying yours too.Ginger of Southport  08/01/2015

Today was our Grandson Joshua's 7th Birthday.    WE went to church and then came home for Joshua's Birthday Dinner For Dinner I cooked....   Ham Potato Salad Rice & Gravy Corn Peas Butter Beans Stewed Potatoes Sweet Pototoes Roll & Butter Cornbread Tea    and of course Birthday Cake   After a lot of fun eating and talking...we the time to open the Gifts..   We all had a great time  watching these 4 Grandchildren playing with each other.  At one point it got very quiet....andwe all wondered what was going on.   Found them in the Bedroom...all at  the foot of the bed...watching Barney..   I Love it.   Hope you had a great Sunday also.   Ginger of Southport 11/04/2012

Today was my husbands Birthday and we have had a marvelous day with the family. Church first thing, (I told the Minister that it was Jimmy's Birthday) and he made a big deal of it.   Then home for the  Sunday Dinner that I had prepared before going to church. Menu:   Roasted Pork Ribs Beef Roast Corn Peas Butterbeans Rice Buttered Potatoes Gravy EggPlant and Onions Sweet Tea and of course Birthday Cake that had blue icing..(turned our tongues and teeth blue)   Just a very wonderful Family day with 12 folks at the table.   Then tonight, canning the tomatoes. (In a thunder and lightning storm)   We did put up 11 Quarts.  They will be used in Spagetti Sauce and Soups through the Winter.   Hope you had a great day also.   Ginger of Southport..   10/07/2012

Timing is everything.  I understand it better now.  I took this listing 6 month ago...and they have now relisted with another broker for less. Timing is everything. I have a client, whose former business was advertising. Just the other day, he said, Ginger you must get the word out. It is the time to BUY. Interest rates are at an all time low, and prices of real estate are unbelievable. He is right. So in my next ad, I put the words on the AD and I am receiving calls ...from, buyers, seller and other agents.   Maybe there is something to telling the world...that it is time to buy!   Ginger of Southport 09/10/2012

Winter is here.  Temperatures have been in the 50 to 60's along the coast.  On New Years Day...some of our family did the POLAR DIP in cold water.  Although the air temperature was in the mid 60's....the water temperature was in the high 30's. I do know that the fishing is good.  WE have Drum, Flounder, Trout in the creek and they sure do taste mighty good when fresh caught and prepared for the frying pan.  Fix a bit of cole slaw and cut your own french fries and fry...a few hushpuppies and you have a meal fit for a King or Queen.  Lemon pie for dessert. This is too good not to share.  At this time of year, many of us are running around trying to get the things done that we feel need to be done. Guess what.  Many of those things that we try to get done, really are not that important.  We need to reflect on our lives and the lives of those around us.  Life is short and precious.  We need to be greatful for the abundance of grace that has been given to us.
