Spring is here.  Temperatures have been in the 80 to 90's along the coast and Summer is not even here. I do know that the fishing is good.  WE have Drum, Flounder, Trout in the creek and they sure do taste mighty good when fresh caught and prepared for the frying pan.  Fix a bit of cole slaw and cut your own french fries and fry...a few hushpuppies and you have a meal fit for a King or Queen.  Lemon pie for dessert. Our Company, Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty~held an Open House Extravaganza weekend and many of us participated.  I held 5 Open Houses with the help of my sellers.  They are excited to do anything that they can do in order to get the exposure for their houses too. We had such a beautiful day for Easter Sunday.  All of the family was around and doing so well.  After the Dinner of Baked Ham, Potato salad, Peas, Butter beans, Corn, Rolls, biscuits, deviled eggs, tea and Friendship cake, we had our annual Easter Egg hunt in the back yard.  We had children ranging in age from 11 months to 12 year.  What a treat. Happy Easter, Lots of folks are flocking to our local beaches to enjoy the warm, spring, sun and to enjoy the beautiful flowers that are surrounding us everywhere.  If this is an indicator of the season, we have plenty of folks here.  Now we will need to see if any of them are interested in real estate next week.  We are prepared with numerous homes and lots for the picking. Easter is the most blessed time of the year.  It is a time for remembrances of the past.  I think back over the Easters that I have experienced for the past 60 years.  It always began with a trip to the front yard to find the most beautiful azalea to pin on my new Easter dress that my mother made for me the week before. (usually hemming it on Saturday Eve)  Then off to Church to sit with my family and enjoy the story of the Resurrection and to sing those favorite hymns of Up From the Grave He Arose and HE Lives. Wow!  What a glorious Tuesday.  Go Tar Heels!  Go Tar Heels!  Turned a bit cooler last night and tonight is going to be cooler.  Today is Glorious because the HEELS won the National Championship!  We had to stay up and watch the entire game.  The Tar Heels went into that game with great expectation and played exceptionally. We just finished our weekly Boost Class and I found it very informative today.  One of the things that we are doing it to find our that our market share is and where we rank.  Also to be the local experts in knowing about our market in the different areas of our local selling area.  WE are breaking it down as to numbers of active, sold and expired listing and what the price is per square feet ~for each, both houses, condos and lots. Well, The 72 degree temps could not continue I guess but it sure was nice yesterday.  After a meal of baked chicken, rice and gravy, butterbeans, corn, string beans,  stewed apples, fresh bread and blueberry cobbler for dessert, we had to walk in the yard to check out the blooming flowers.  Lots of azaleas and camillas are showing their first colors for Spring. Oh what a glorious day..raining...and cool...and damp. But I am not going to let that dampen my spirits. I know that in May the flowers are going to be beautiful.  I must have a thousand Azaleas and Camellias that will bloom in my yard.  It will be pretty for the Easter Holidays but the peak will come in May.  Orton Plantation is getting ready to be in full bloom.  If you should be in the area, check it out.
