Have you ever been without power?  I am sure we all have, at one time or another.  I have learned to always be prepared.  One of the questions, I like to ask my client for inspections is, Do you have power?  Is this new construction?  Have you ever been to a building that did not have power and you needed electricity or power to run tools or instruments?  Better be prepared.  Always be prepared for the unexpected.  There is nothing worse than going to a job and realizing, there is no power for air pumps for Mold Sampling, High-Intensity Lighting, and other things that need electricity. I have many forms of backup power but this one above is my favorite.  It is called the Jackery.  I can plug it in and get the electricity that is mobile to take with me from a power supply before I leave ...

As I walked on my back deck today, this is what I saw.Sometimes, it is the simple things in life, that we see and experience, that brings the breath of fresh air to us.The birds, the rabbits, the squirrels, the deer, the owls at night, and more.  As I look back on life and at life, I realize that perhaps, nature and showing my love for nature, was something I needed to get back to.  I have bucks and doe's in my area, where I live.  You would think that animals would fear people and some do.  Perhaps, I am learning that I need to get back to nature and give back to nature and show more understanding with nature and give back more than I am currently giving to nature.   What was this deer thinking as she looked at me?  I have no idea but maybe to say thank you for the ear of corn I left o...

How many of you are noticing an increase in anxiety since 2019, with people?  Are people getting annoyed and are people getting more annoyed, from what you have seen?  I see some people having very little patience and I see and hear of others snapping.  People are stressed out and they want things to go back to the way, things were.Who thinks things, will ever go back to the way, they were?  People do not like the change from what I have seen.  Change requires work.  Sometimes, change requires much work and sacrifice.  Are people wanting to change their lifestyle and change the way he or she acts?  We are certainly finding out.  Are we not?Since I have been in business since 1987.  I have never seen so many people on edge.  What are some things that you do or are helpful? Some of the t...

Three Proven Tips for Buying a Home Sight UnseenYes, these are trying time for home buyers, and not just for those looking for a Charlotte home. Throughout the country, hopeful buyers face shrinking inventories, rising prices, and sellers unwilling to negotiate terms or prices. But it’s not completely one-sided. Interest rates remain low, and buyers and their agents have learned how to cope in an historic seller’s market. Thanks to a robust economy, the US housing market continues to sail along, as buyers respond by making multiple offers, many over the asking price, and even making offers on homes sight unseen. What? It’s not as crazy as it might sound. As the housing market heats up, buyers have to use every advantage to snag a house faster than the competition. And making an attractive ...

This is a shout-out to Vickie De Nicola.  Thank you, Vickie.  Vickie provided this photo and I have decided to mention her as well as share her testimony to you as well as introduce her to any and all, who wants to hear about CBD Oil. As I reflect back on life and life, I wanted to stop,  to give thanks. In our busy lives, we sometimes are not as thankful as we could beor should be.  When was the last time, we took the time to give thanks for not only the good that is happened to us but the bad? Yes, I said bad. We all have the good, the bad,and the ugly happen to us.  Have we ever stopped to think or be thankfulfor all things happening to us?  We are on our journey in life and sometimes,we see the good, the bad, and the ugly.  This is life. When a home has water damage, find the source of the issue.  When you have inside issues, sometimes, outside issues are what created the problem, to begin with.  In the above-said photo, notice the water damage, the mold, the wood rot, and the termite activity? It is very important to find the source of the problem, to begin with.  We do not always know, what we will run into in life but there are things to consider before work is started.  Inform the client, that there might be hidden wood rot or decay or termite activity.  Termites love moisture and they love wood that is wet and then when they get to the wet wood, sometimes they keep on eating. Wet wood and a wet environment is an invitation to termites to come on in and dine.  Wink.  This homeowner was very fortunate that he did not ...

This is chapter 2 of wood rot, decay, termite activity, and mold.  This is and was stage 2 of the process. All of the above was cleaned up.  Notice how clean things are now.  All of the wood rot and decay and termites and mold are gone and removed.  Does it look a little better? When you are working on a home, make sure you are exhausting or putting the house under negative pressure so you do not have debris and wood dust and sheetrock ducts flying everywhere and put plastic around things to protect. It is simply amazing how things progress if you are prepared for the job. Make sure you have the needed tools for the job and be prepared for the unexpected.  Make sure everyone works together instead of the opposite.  Notice all the rotten wood, insulation, and bad wood and debris are now g...

Have you ever seen Water Damage, Wood Rot, and Mold Damage, all at the same time?  Well, here we are.  Here is an example.  Below, is the story. Once upon a time, there lived a man and woman, who lived in a home that had a smell to their home and they did not know, what the smell was.  Although, things did smell musty and they had had two other companies to their home to take care of the issue.  David Snell came and did an inspection with an infrared red scan to walls and ceilings to home and found an anomaly around the fireplace area.  David proceeded to do penetrating and non-penetrating readings to and around the fireplace.  He found elevated moisture level readings inside the home as well as outside issues.  There was other work that was done to the crawl space by other companies bu...
