Getting ready to spike it! I love playing volleyball so this is right up my alley. However I'm not sure what team would be excited to recruit a 64 year old man with a long list of health problems (plus I could stand to lose 10 pounds).I do not believe there are any restrictions on who can play so whether you are a teen or in your 60's like me you should sign up today.

Tickets are on sale today for those who are part of "Friends of the Hostfest" and to the general public tomorrow. I've written many posts about this EXTREMELY fun 4 day event that is held at the North Dakota State Fair grounds. Although I don't believe there is a drop of Scandinavian blood in me I go every year and have a blast (just like I'm not Irish except for onj St. Pat's Day... then I'm all in). Some of the acts announced so far include: Chicks with Hits, Clint Black, Daniel O'Donnell, The Texas Tenors, Terry Fator, and Chicago. This just scratches the surface as there are acts all day, every day, for four days. For more about Norsk Hostfest just google it.I hope to see you there!

Along with the moving I've also been studying to regain my title as a Notary Signing Agent. Part one was to take the course to be recognized by the National Notary Association (NNA). Then of course there was a Background Check, no problem. Last of all was the actual course for the title of Signing Agent. Long story made short... literally... I had trouble getting logged into the study course so I just skipped right to the test. ACED IT!                  Aside from about 15 years of past experience as a Signing Agent I must say that my years as a Real Estate Broker/Agent also helped greatly. So now I'm ready... let the phone ring!

On Friday my radio program (not a podcast) featured the 2nd half of my interview with Walter Piehl, Nationally recognized artist from Minot ND. Even though Walter Piehl is/was my 1st interview of 2019 I think it's bound to be at the top of my list of favorites when I get to the end of the year as well. We took the second half of our Christmas lights tour this evening. Tonight we drove for an hour and a half around North Minot. There were some nice displays but I was a little disapointed that there were no traditional displays with JUST the nativity. Disney and Schults seemed to have made big headway into the Christmas lawn ornament world.

I posted my entry into Carol Williams , December Challenge 2018: What Inspires You, early on. If you have not then go check it out HERE. Although you only get bonus points once I've posted several times about what inspires me. This is just one more....We had a wonderful worship service this morning. I appreciated the simple way the alter was decorated and the message about Mary's visit with Elizabeth before the birth of two of Earths most famous people of the Bible. To many people it's the same old story but it's very inspiring to me.

Tina's home! That always means one thing for sure, a one hour family drive around town. In the summer it means looking at new construction, in the winter we go check out the lights. Tonight we covered the South end of Minot. Only one home truely stood out above the rest. Not a Grizwald home but one done well! I threw in a couple others that were tastefully done but alas I once again did not have the proper camera along and just shot these with my phone.                 Let's start with #1. Here are a couple others. Hopefully we will do better tomorrow night.

Last night we made our annual pilgrimage through Oak Park for the Sertoma Club's light festival. There is a $5.00 charge per car and it is well worth it as there is about 40 displays to see.Night photography shot out of a moving car window is not the best but out of about 50 shots I got a few worth sharing with you.The 1st one was my favorite. It depicts Minot with the river and the railroad running through the heart of the community. This next one is elves building a home, we missed the one on the left operating a table saw (which was my favorite part of the display). 1st Western Bank snuck their logo into a couple of presents. The wonderful message of Peace was proclaimed. And at the end Santa thanks you for driving through.

This afternoon we took advantage of the extremely warm temperatures (48 degrees above zero) and took a nice stroll through Minot's downtown. I had a two fold mission in mind. I wanted to show Carol and Tinmmothy the two locations I'm considering moving my business to and to also get some ideas for Christmas. There are several shops I should blog about but this post will focus on Oliver's Attic & their purses in particular. As the name implies, Oliver's Attic, this boutique requires some stair climbing but I hope I captured enough to make you want to brave the steps.

Clear skies, no wind, and 30 degree temps sent many families to the Roosevelt Park Zoo today. The parking lot was full. Here are some shots from my walk this afternoon. Here is the perfect Christmas inflatable to have in front of the Zoo.The perfect Christmas Outfit to show off to the bears.Despite the heat wave I'm guessing Teddy was pretty cool in the saddle.

I just had to ask the police officer: "And if this happened to you?"During my lunch hour yesterday I was at home at the table and I get a phone call from a certain delivery companyand they said they were just at my door, knocked, rang the bell, and no one answered so I could go to the FlubEx Office across town and get my package. That seemed strange being I was literally 10' from the door.So I drove to FlubEx Office and sure enough the package was there. They asked for some ID and I showed them my drivers license. Ah-Ha, no wonder I didn't hear the door, it wasn't my address on the package label BUT there was my name and cell phone number on the package. FlubEx wouldn't let me have the package or even open it up at their counter (BTW I was not expecting any kind of package either). Witho...

This afternoon I got a little tired of sitting around the house so we decided to go check out the new Woodland Trail that the Minot Park District completed this year. This area of town was hit hard by the 2011 flood and a lot of work has been going on with new highway bridges and dikes being constructed in the area. In general this was an area to avoid at all costs for several years but now the dikes have been completed as well as the highway bridges. While all that was going on the Park District was building and grooming trails nearby creating the Woodland Trail. It was a nice walk. There was way more trail then we were prepaired for so we only walked a fraction of it.

Let's NOT let the desires of the few override the needs of the many. This is a call to action for any/all Minot residents that can attend the Tuesday November 27th City Council Meeting at 4:15 to please come and be vocal. The item to be discussed is the expansion of Minot's landfill. A very small and very vocal minority is calling for a new landfill and not to expand the current landfill... this would cost Minot tax payers greatly through increased garbage collection fees. The whining few defend their stand by saying the expansion will be the landfill within a mile of a new hospital being built on Minot's South East side. Whoop Dee Do! The people fighting this landfill expansion are selfish self centered people who only care about their own self interests.
