A look at the Red chart below shows there were 42 closings overall to include all properties in our MLS. Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was 92 compared to last weeks 98 days. Over all homes sold slightly faster and for slightly more money per square foot this week. The chart above is the total MLS activity for the week. This includes ALL types of properties as well as all cities in our MLS. The chart below is very restrictive as explained below.Be sure to note the line above as this is a very restrictive report. On Minot Real Estate Today's radio broadcast I interview City Alderman and Mayor candidate Shaun Sipma. I love this interview as we talk about may Real Estate related subjects. We end our 15 minute visit with the hot topic of "The Magic Fund" which is a real hot button to many Minot citizens. Minot Real Estate Today is an over the air broadcast that can be heard every Friday on two Minot radio stations. It is broadcast first on 106.9 FM at 12:15 PM and again on 1320 AM at 4:45 PM. As always the over the air broadcast is recorded and released as a podcast to be found right here on my blog each week.

BIG NEWS in Minot for entrepreneurs. A federal program to develop Opportunity Zones has come to town. Minot is one of 25 North Dakota communities to make it into the program and the chosen area for Minot is the downtown area, to include the previously established Renaissance Zone. Minot City Manager Tom Barry calls it a "Double Positive"! This is a tax incentive program administered through the U.S. Department of Treasury which will provide tax incentives and capital gains exceptions. More information on the program is expected to be available later this month. This is part of the 2017 Tax Reform Act passed by Congress and signed by the President in December of 2017. Some of the local key players have been on my radio program, Minot Real Estate Today. In fact tomorrows guest, Alderman Sh...

Although I have yet to attend a Coffee with a Cop event I've always wanted to so I could express my appreciation for what they do. I'll put that on the top of my list for tomorrow.Minot is blessed to have several libraries and the 3 I am familiar with are all GREAT. I'm thinking of the City library, The County library, and the university library.Give Parents a Break Night sounds like a great idea for those who have smaller children.Tacos and Tunes... what could be better than that? Aaron Simmons is a musician from my home town of Moorhead MN so I just may go see what he is all about. All of the events mentioned today can be found at the VisitMinot.org website. My thanks to them for providing us with this information.

First I will start out with an apology that I did not post yesterday. It was a day with family, some who I have not seen in years. It was really a great holiday weekend with my daughter graduating from high school and relatives here to celebrate her accomplishment. The bulk of the information I'm sharing with you today comes from the Visit Minot website and a little bit from The Minot Daily News.Safe Sitter Classes  I highly recommend these classes for any boy or girl that may baby sit their siblings or any other children in the near future.Connect Minot this is a GREAT meeting of young entrepreneurs sharing ideas and successes with anyone willing to listen. There is to much for me to cover here BUT why not start out with the Boy Scout Breakfast.Thank God for all the events honoring the people of the past. Memorial day is NOT just for lost military loved ones, it's for honoring all people who have been important in our lives. With my siblings coming to town for my daughters graduation we will be doing a lot of reminiscing about mom and dad as well as our grandparents. I will also be remembering lost friends, teachers, preachers and more. I hope you will be too.Have a wonderful and blessed Memorial Day.

05/27/2018Available Condos & Town homes in Minot ND.There are currently 34 Condominiums and 33 Townhomes for a total of 67 units available in Minot ND. They range in price from $79,900 to $359,900. The average listing price is $203,969. The average days on market is 89. Frankly I was surprised by this report that there were no sales in this category last week. However, having dealt with a certain property appraiser last week I wouldn't doubt he single handily has killed several sales with his crappy attitude towards townhomes and VA buyers in particular.

Just like any other Sunday I would encourage you to go to your favorite house of worship. A family built on faith will have a much better chance of surviving lifes storms together of they share their faith together.Of course the BIG event in the Timm family household on Sunday will be the graduation of Tina Natalie Timm, my daughter. Minot High School will hold its graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 27, at 2:00 p.m., at the Minot State University Dome. Friends and relatives unable to attend the ceremony can also view the broadcast live by logging on to the Minot Public Schools website at http://www.minot.k12.nd.us. and click on the link entitled “Graduation Webcast.”Other events include:

Few thing effect Real Estate as much as government policy yet most people haven't a clue that this is true. Government policy has a HUGE effect on Real Estate. This is just another reason why it is so important to keep up with local elections and to get out and vote. Jeff happens to be an old friend of mine BUT I am willing to visit with any candidate on Minot Real Estate Today. Here is this weeks over the air radio broadcast of my interview with Jeff Hoverson. Next weeks guest on Minot Real Estate Today will be Shaun Sipma, candidate for the position of Minot Mayor. I hope you enjoy this visit with Jeff Hoverson today.Minot Real Estate Today is broadcast of the air every Friday on two Minot radio stations. It can be heard at 12:15 on 106.9 FM and later at 4:45 on 1320 AM. As always I p...

The list in the paper today is short but for me VERY sweet!I love looking at old tractors! I do not have an agricultural background but when I look at vintage machines like this I marvel at the ingenuity used in their time to make these beasts operate.Car Audio Competition (bring ear protection). Come see the systems that can make your ears bleed. A couple of lifetimes ago I worked for Stero One in Fargo ND. It was the most high-end stereo store in the State and we sold systems like this all the time. We also had an annual contest (I'm sure that's were these people got the idea from).3rd Annual Hatchery Fun Day. This is not actually a Minot thing being it is held at the Garrison Dam but it certainly is worth the trip. If possible you may want to see if they are giving tours of the dam a...

As you can see the list is a long one again and some of it is self explanatory. There is something for every age group. Of course the two events that include Mexican food have my interest:Taco John's Crunch For A Cause is a benefit this week for one of Minot's well known dance studios. I know having a child in dance class can be very expensive. I assume this is to help out with costumes and travel expenses. BTW if you hadn't heard me say this before it's my humble opinion that Taco John's serves the best food on Earth.Dine to Donate at Paradiso will benefit Kaycee Klimple. According to a FB page: KayCee suffered a sudden and life threatening medical incident and is now under going rehab in Denver, CO. Please show your support by attending a dine to donate to help raise funds. We look fo...

I noticed a couple of things in the paper today that were not on the schedule to the right so let me tell you about those 1st.A new program being introduced by the Minot Park District in conjunction with their 2018 theme of "Unplug & Play" is called Park Pals. For just $20.00 your child will get a day pass to the Roosevelt Park Pool, the Roosevelt Park Zoo, a round of golf at the Jack Hoeven  Wee Links golf course, as well as a pass to ice skate at the Maysa Arena. In addition to all this they also receive a tote bag with several goodies in it. Got more than 1 child... additional children can be added to the Park Pals plan for just $5.00.Then there is picnic with the pilot. Our kids loved this when they were little. They got to sit in the helicopter and the pilots were great to visit wi...

Over the years I've read a plethora of posts and comments advising never to touch the 3rd rail when posting a blog or even in visiting with potential clients. That 3rd rail could be a subject, a person, a thing, or a philosophy. Most recently in my reading it was a question asked what to do when on a listing interview the seller asked the agent if they believe in God. If I may digress for a moment that could mean just about anything from "what/who is your god" to "You got a big honking deadly spider on your back dude" or "come on in... I'm Norman Bates". As I said, I digress. The FACT is that what ever YOUR 3rd rail isit just might be MY GRAVY TRAIN!I'm sure that for every 3rd rail type of post I've read I've also read a post or question about niche marketing. So what if your 3rd rail to...

They say: The mind, heart, and body can improve with regular meditation. Meditation has helped ease chronic pain, anxiety, stress, improve heart h...

Sunday May 20th is supposed to be a beautiful weather day in Minot ND so FIRST of all let me encourage you to get out and enjoy the day. You might start out (after church) by coming up and seeing my open house at Highlands at North Hill and then take in one or more of the events to the left. Some of the vendors at the Dakota Square Mall Vendor Fair include:    You don't have to be a good golfer to enjoy a golf scramble. If you are not familiar with the concept it's that you are a part of a team and all 4 of you take a shot from the same spot and you use the best shot. This continues around the entire course. It's fun... they may not use a single shot of yours or if you golf like me they use about 90% of your shots. The Rinat Dance School is a fantastic school. The Spring Fling is Star War...
