When it is time to sell your home you want to do it right. First of all, it's important you work closely with a highly motivated agent. Your goal is to Net Top Dollar. You want an agent who is going to listen to your needs. An agent that is going to have your best interest in mind. An agent that is honest with you and will provide expert advice that will benefit you, not the agent. You want an agent that is not going to try to sell your home but Market it. In Rochester, NH, an agent can't just put a sign in front of your home and just hope it sells. Here is what my marketing plan looks like:Marketing PlanStaging and Pricing Strategies- Pricing is very important, and one thing you, the seller, has control of. Price to high, and you could be making competing properties look more appealing...

Recently, my wife and I decided to spend more time together...just the two of us. See, we have children, and children can sometimes take up a lot of your time. Now, I'm not saying that my wife and I don't love our children, and love spending time with them, it is just that my wife, now being a stay at home mom, desires some adult interaction, and I love to be with my wife without us hearing her name called out every other minute.  So we decided to take one night a month and dedicate a few hours to her and I getting out and having conversation and relaxing. The rules are minimal talking about the children and not so much talk about work. We figure we had better build our relationship strong now so we have one when the kids move out. We don't like to go anywhere too far from our home in ...

New Hampshire's primary is now behind us. You may have had some conversations about politics with friends and family. You may have heard complaints about the outcome, or had some thoughts on some of the views of  the candidates. Everyone has their own opinions and views, and is rightfully entitled to them. I personally like talking politics. Now not at the office of course, or to the point where I'm in an argument, but I find it interesting to hear people's thoughts and to get my own thoughts out, of course. Unfortunately, the day after the primary, I found it hard to find anyone to have a conversation with. Reason being, I found very few people I knew that voted! WOW! I was surprised! I feel what was even worse than them not voting was that they didn't feel bad about it, and even defe...

I recently moved to Rochester NH., on Washington St. One of the big reasons my family and I moved to Rochester, is the economic growth going on here. Shortly after we moved in, a new strip mall was put in about a mile down the road from my house. There are plans to fix and widen my street to make it much more user friendly. At fist I thought this would create a traffic problem in front of my house, but want to say, that it was thought through and the road plan works so the traffic is coming off the highway and right into the mall parking lot. I am very exited about the changes, and think that Rochester can benefit from them. These changes will grab all the shoppers in the towns north( Alton, Wolfboro, Middleton, Milton, Wakefield, and Farmington) that don't want to travel to Portsmouth...

I'm sure that many of you around the United States has heard on the news that a hostage situation has occurred in Rochester NH this afternoon.  I am happy to report that it has come to an end with a happy ending.Suspect Leeland Eisenberg was reported to enter a local satellite office of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.  This office, located on North Main Street, Rochester NH is a short 10 miles from where I am located in Somersworth NH.  Mr. Eisenberg had taken 4 adults hostage, and 1 child under the age of one hostage.  After a brief amount of time he let go a young lady, with her small child go, and remained in the office space, with what he claimed to be a bomb strapped to his body. Living so close to this situation, I kept a very close eye on the entire outcome throughout the a...

With the weather getting colder and colder here in New England I thought I would post some tips given to me through the New England Water Works Association on the prevention and handling of frozen water pipes. With gusting wind and colder temperatures during the winter months more and more home and business owners may encounter frozen water pipes.According to the New England Water Works Association, property owners can take these simple steps to help protect homes and business:1. Turn Off Outside Faucets- Disconnect the hose, turn off the water from inside your home or business, then drain the pipe. Leave the outside valve open slightly, so any water left in the pipe can flow out and not freeze in the line.2.Patch Any Cracks and Holes In Doors, Windows, and Walls Near Pipes-When temper...

Going to the theater and going to see plays growing up was something I did not want to do. My mom used to drag my brother and me to plays all the time. To say we went kicking and screaming would be an understatement. It didn't matter if it were a school play put on by real armatures or a huge production with professional actors, we had to go. I don't remember what a lot of those early performances were about at all. I spent way to much time wishing I were somewhere else, fooling around, and yes, sleeping. I will never forget though when my attitude, and my whole opinion of the theater changed. I was in the fifth grade. I had a day off from school and my plans were to spend a lot of time in front of my video game system, because there was a lot of madden to be played that day. I also th...

Calling all Carnivores in the Rochester NH Area! I'd like to take a moment to tell you about the best dang hamburger joint in the north east, at least I think so...  On Route 125 just off  exit 13 on the Spaulding Turnpike in Rochester, NH is a place called Wild Willy's Burgers.  Typically I like to treat myself to the burgers they offer on Friday afternoons.  I consider it a treat and something worthy of looking forward to during the week.  You see, this is not a fast food establishment.  In fact, my only complaint is that it's a little slow.  However, the folks there are very nice and it's easy to strike up a conversation while you wait for your food.  The food however is unlike anything you will find at any other "burger" establishment.  It's old-fashioned cooking that just can't be ...

History and other facts about Rochester NH and Rochester NH Real Estate By: Rob Gagnon RE/MAX Executives According to Wikipedia, Rochester NH was once inhabited by Abenaki Indians.  A suburb of Rochester NH was known as Squamanogonic. Today, the name has been shortened to just Gonic.  This name means "the water of the clay place hill."  This makes much sense and would explain the reason why the Gonic Brick yard was developed and stood as one of many main sources of employment for locals in the late 1800's and all of the 1900's during that time, at least 3 generations of my family worked at the Gonic brick yard (myself included).  The clay was harvested and made into bricks which were shipped all over the east coast.  In fact, these bricks were used to create Harvard University.  In the ...
