Brick NJ Brief History: For most of it's early history, Brick NJ was a fishing and agricultural center. In the late 1800's and early 1900's, the New Jersey Shore was being developed as a resort area. Because of this, the main economy shifted from agriculture to commercial activities associated with seasonal resorts. In the 1950's, there was a large trend of suburbanization as droves of people left large cities in favor of more rural areas. The opening of the Garden State Parkway in 1954 made it possible to live somewhat inexpensively in an undeveloped region, but still commute to work in New York City. Today, with approximately 76,200 residents, BrickNJ is certainly no longer an undeveloped region. Regardless of the large size of the township, Brick NJ remains the second safest place...

Hey, here is $7500 bucks. Pay me back interest free  over 15 years (unless you can't sell your house for a profit) This is deal being offered to first time home buyers with the tax credit that was passed earlier this year. However, no one seems to understand it or appreciate it.  I just had a VA buyer that was purchasing a home with no money down and receiving a seller concession for the full amount of the closing costs. Now, after he closes, he can expect an additional $7500 in his tax return check. Not a bad deal.   How Does the Refund Work? It works like this.  If you were going to originally receive a $1000 refund when you file your taxes in 2009 it will now be increased up to $8500 as a qualified first time home buyer. The original $1,000 due + $7,500 from the tax rebate.    Who i...

Kim Kelley always posts the best photos, it may be a view... and often a sunrise (she gets up way too early! They are a little crazy on the left coast)  Now it is my turn to share a few shots... Of course, if you read any of my blogs you know... I always forget my camera.. so all of these photos are taken with my blackberry. make sure you scroll all the way down, 4 photos total. I left them big, I thought they looked better that way. The first two are from a Thursday night Cat boat race I was patrolling for, I was happy I was not sailing as I watched the wind drop to almost nothing, but it sure made for a pretty sunset over the water... here is one with out a boat in the way... The next two are from This Past Tuesday night.  I race a J24 every Tuesday from the spring to the fall... an...

Brick Township SummerFest Finale August 28, 2008 Brick promises that the SummerFest Finale will have a special display.  As in the past when Mother Nature has not cooperated, the same has happened this year, and the "missed" date will equal a Huge display for this years finale. I have been to the Finale show on more than one occasion where it was twice the usual show which makes for even more fun.  This year's show starts with the usual concert at Windward  Beach on Princeton Ave in Brick. The artists will be Nikki Britt and James Otto. As usual my preference for viewing the fireworks would be by boat, on the Metedeconk River just off of windward beach.  You can also view the fireworks from Windward Beach, or just about anywhere along the shore of the Metedeconk River. Lets hope for goo...

This Schedule was posted in Error Please look at the new schedule above.   MAKE SURE YOU SET THESE SPECIAL DATES ASIDE, I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU DON'T MISS JAZZ NIGHT THIS YEAR. IF YOU LIKE JAZZ FUSION YOU WILL LOVE Keiko Matusi SHE PERFORMED HERE LAST YEAR, SHE WAS PHENOMINAL, I KNEW OF HER FROM SMOOTH JAZZ CD 101.9 WRXP BUT HAD ONLY HEARD A SONG OR TWO, AFTER EXPERIENCING THIS MOST INSPIRATIONAL EVENING, I  BOUGHT HER CD AND LISTENED TO IT EVERYDAY IN THE OFFICE FOR WEEKS. OF COURSE EVERYONE ASKED WHO IS THAT WHAT IS THAT. HER MUSIC IS SOPHISCATED,  MEMORABLE AND INSPIRATIONAL AND WILL SOOTH THE SOUL,  IF YOU ENJOY THIS MUSIC.  Keiko Matsui grew up in Tokyo and took her first piano lesson at the age of five. Influenced by Stevie Wonder and Rachmaninov as well as early fusion masters ...

Dear Consumer, I applaud you for doing your homework when shopping for a mortgage. Sometimes the research that you do online, making sure that you are getting a good deal, is a good thing. My question to you though, do you over do it?  Do you shop to many times, calling many lenders, looking for that best deal?  Do you know that the market can change daily? Do you realize that one deal that you thought was great, could be worse 3 days later?   Consumer.... what I respect is that you are patient at times and give loan officers a chance and sometimes the benefit of the doubt when shopping for a mortgage. You sometimes give them many days in getting back to you. But is this good? Are you just fixated on the best price? Don't you know that service comes with a price or in some cases, lack ...
