11 High End Condos Proposed for Long Branch Beachfront Mayor Adam Schneider has signed a redevelopment agreement with a firm that plans to build a luxury condominiums at the Beachfront South oceanfront. While redevelopment in the city slowed with the economy, Schneider predicts it will pick up when conditions improve because "this is a great place to live and to invest in." Schneider last Tuesday was authorized to sign the agreement by Council members Mary Jane Celli, David G. Brown and Michael DeStefano. Councilmen Anthony Giordano and Brian Unger were absent.   After 181,000+ website hits, articles on more than 400 websites worldwide and appearances on newscasts coast to coast, the sale of the little cottage at  7 1/2 West End Court has been finalized. While the prospective buyers came from all directions - there was the entertainment attorney from Nashville, the music industry executives from New York who were going to make it into a songwriter's retreat and a group of fans from London, in the end, the buyer was a Jersey girl, her brother and their good friend.  I wish the buyers years of happiness and fun times in the cottage.  It's always been a favorite of mine, since college days when I lived across the street on the beach, moving in the same week as Bruce in 1974. On Tuesday evening the Jersey Shore looked as if it had been invaded by an army of individuals ready for battle as we all gathered along the shore line dressed in the same uniform, (white shirts and Khaki pants).     On lookers from the board walk stopped and stared and whispered amongst themselves.  As camera and film equipment were elevated high above the sky, the guesses were anything from a family reunion to a movie being filmed. Hey There        Welcome to Another Day In Paradise, glad to see you stopped by.  Today I would like to talk about how great my home town is.  Long Branch is one of the first real shore towns after Sandy Hook in New Jersey.  The city of Long Branch was at one time the vacation destination of the rich and famous, before HollyWood became the center of the entertainment world.  In the 1920's Broadway was were the most famous actors of the time worked, and they came to play in Long branch.  As the focus shifted from the stage to the silver screen, people also shifted away from frequenting Long branch.  Long branch is still a vacation destination, but it is much less crowded these days.  Long Branch is my favorite town all along the Jersey shore, because it is not a tourist trap.  There are ... 06/26/2008

Hey all      It really is another day in paradise today, because the heat wave finally broke up here in the northeast.  Five or so days of it feeling like a hundred degrees out there was rough.  Being that i am still fairly new in the business I still handle alot of residential rentals.  I have worked with college students and vacationers mainly, and this past week was pretty rough for me to get my clients out to see prospective properties.  Did I complain? Yes, but only to my girl friend.  I feel like its my responsability to my clients to be as upbeat as possible even when confronted with rough conditions.  If my clients can see that I don't let minor inconviences get me down I feel that it makes them more confident that I will do the work necessary to fulfill their specific needs.   ... 06/12/2008

OK Let's go to the beach club now.  The Chelsea beach Club with it's 2 salt water pools and it's tunnel out the the ocean.  yes, it was a working class beach club.  Not as prestigous as say the Deal Club, but, it was fun.  I had my first real kiss in the cabana and I am ashamed to say that it was 1958. Oh my.  My father used to do jack knives off of the high dive and I was frequently seen climbing bck down after chickening out and forcing an entire line of people to climb bckwards down the ladder.  I did eventually master the high dive.  All of my little friends from the neighborhood would go too.  It was the thing to do.  My favorite part was sneaking ccross the street to the arcade and playing the penny arcade machines.  All thoses silly little trinkets made in Japan that we thought w... 01/19/2008

November 11, 2007JESSE'S CAFE & CATERING at 139 Brighton Avenue, West End of Long Branch Who knew health food could taste so good? I haven't frequented Jesse's Cafe since I was a West End regular in 2002. Back then Jesse operated a health food store and small cafe in the back. Jesse is a West End mainstay. She's owned and operated her cafe for 28 years. She also wrote a cookbook. Jesse renovated her place BIG-TIME a few years ago and the place is amazing. Jesse's motto is "EAT FRESH FOR HEALTH!" And I did. I started my lunch with a fresh juice cocktail (no silly, booze-free) called Cure Ya or Kill Ya.The ingredients are juiced garlic, ginger, beet, carrot and if you're really saucy a shot of ole cayenne.
