There are currently 116 single family homes on the market for sale, which is down slightly from the 128 last month.Although prices in general have trended slightly lower, Summit still remains an appealing option for many buyers, which has enabled homes to sell quickly if they are priced properly. Multiple offers are still a possiblity for competetively priced homes. However,  I expect days on market to continue to rise for homes that are priced too high. On the flip side, the homes that are priced well are often times selling for MORE than the asking price. With its excellent school system, and Midtown Direct train, Summit NJ is one of the premier housing options for Union County, NJ.There were 31 properties that closed in June in Summit, which is 5 less than one month prior. The average...

Well the bridge construction has finally started on Springfield Avenue between City Hall and Kent Place Boulevard in Summit, NJ already causing some minor delays and irritation.  The work being performed will replace the bridge that spans the NJ Transit Railroad.  The bridge is now closed to all vehicles and pedestrians for the duration of the construction process.  Eastbound Springfield Avenue traffic will be detoured south onto Morris Avenue, east onto Broad Street, and North onto Maple Street to return to Springfield Avenue east of closing. Westbound Springfield Avenue traffic will use the same route but in the reverse order.  A temporary U-turn at Kent Place Boulevard and Springfrield Avenue has controlled some of the traffic problems.  The bridge is expected to re-open in November ...

Real estate is a national concern but each market is unique.  Our lovely corner of New Jersey is approaching that state of balance between buyers and sellers that spells a healthy market.  At present, the inventory of unsold homes does provide buyers some advantage.  But overall, our market is strong, thanks to low mortgage rates, a strong local economy, appealing towns and no opportunity for overbuilding.  If you're thinking of buying or selling a home, drop by our beautiful office in the heart of downtown Summit.  You'll soon see why Lois Schneider Realtor is known as The First Name in Fine Propeties.
