As those of you who follow my blog know, I grew up in Monmouth County N.J.  On the map above it is not shown but located just south of Lincroft.  We were raised in a subdivision of 3 BR 2 Ba ranch style homes built on land that used to be a farm.  One of my favorite things to do was to play with my friends in the woods that had a creek running through it.  My best friend and I spent numerous hours a day climbing up and down the steep sidewalls and sloshing through the creek.  We had a ball!  This was in the late 50's early 60's.  It was the thing that kids in my neighborhood DID!  No prohibitons, no punishments would keep us away because we had such fun.  My mother would admonish me because I would come in caked with red mud.  Actually it was clay; sticky and tough to get out of clot... 11/08/2008
