The following was posted as a comment to my original Tranquility estate post. I found it so interesting that I'm creating a separate posting for it. Thanks to Don for the following write up:   I was a helper for the granite company that worked there. I thought I'd add a couple of other cool things that stood out for me. 1. The master bath is made completely out of white carrera marble. Floors, walls, crown molding, window sill, and shower. There is a jetted tub that was carved from two large chunks of marble. 2. Each door hinge cover is made from solid silver. 3. I've seen it mentioned that the property was completed in 2000. That's inaccurate. It was completed in 2001. The Same Old Song and Dance... it's Bad, but it's Not! (LAKE TAHOE REAL ESTATE BLOG) Home prices have fallen for the tenth month in a row, according to the Case-Shiller price index released Wednesday by Standard & Poor's. The report indicates that 11 of 20 U.S. metro area show record-low growth rates. South Lake Tahoe, of course, is not among these areas. Once again, this news is spun as bad news for the housing sector. In fact this time it’s called “grim’ by Robert Shiller, chief economist at MacroMarkets LLC and co-developer of the index. It’s true, this news would be considered “bad” if one were trying to sell their house over market value right now, but it wouldn’t be so if one were buying at present. One of the really cool things about living in South Lake Tahoe is Kingsbury Middle School. Not only does it have a great sports program, the school is the top rated academic middle school in Nevada. A great thing about having your own blog is being able to show off one's children. Here, Maxene's son Olivier has just scored on a layup. Here Olivier dribbles toward the basket from mid court. That;s Jake in front of him, and Jenner behind. This is the KMS gym; it was their last home game. Considering the size of their class, only 39 8th graders, the team did well. They finished in second place in their district. Olivier kinda towers over a player here from St. Theresa's School, which has an even smaller student population than KMS.
