LONG DOCK Park in Beacon NY - Perfect any time of year. I am a frequent visitor of Long Dock. This is a clean up site owned by Scenid Hudson River. Once a dump site now a cleaned up park that is perfect for many things. Taking photos is one of them. Long Dock faces Newburgh NY and the skyline at sunset is amazing. I am just glad to know that someone cared enough to clean this environmental disaster up and make it a park. You would never know, as there is nothing left behind from its commercial and industrial history. Now it is dotting with kayaks and people launching boats.   New Listing or OPEN HOUSE Postcards, Which should I use?   On June 29th I held an Open House for a stately home, that coincidentially had an offer on it, that contracts were being sent out on the following Monday....however, the owners were thrilled about the offer and of course we did our best to bring in a higher bid.     I sent out 100 OPEN HOUSE Postcards for the event, posted 6 signs with balloons, we advertised in the paper and online websites....galore.  And some success, there were 5 visitors.  It might have been better in the Spring when the weather was better....but it's hot and humid now.  Most of the buyers were just looking.  I did hear that most of them came from the online ads.       However, when I told the Seller that I sent out 100 postcards she was happy to hear of ... 07/02/2014

It's amazing from start to finish, the detailed work we do for our clients, and for some the list grows longer as the search goes on...  When trying to find that perfect home especially when so few are listed for sale, we start knocking on doors to find it... Sometimes when you find it, it's a diamond in the rough.  And moving in has to wait for all the updates to be made. Not many buyers can work around these circumstances. It's an inconvenience to be homeless while you actually own a home, one of life's small ironies. Mill Street Loft - Dutchess Arts Camp - Beacon NY Summer Arts Programs  When my daughters were young we had some fabulous summer activiites. One of my favorite was when Kathleen spent a week in Poughkeepsie at the Mill Street Loft summer arts program. It was such an amazing program then, and it has expanded from just one location to three. I found it so worth our time that I would drive 30 minutes each way so that she could participate. We did that two different years for a week each. Creative talents flow when children are given a structured environment that allows for creativity to be expressed.
