Greenburgh covers several river towns and also cuts a swath eastward to the central portion of the county. The Greenburgh Central School District comprises three zip codes and two PO address. A good portion of the White Plains NY PO is not part of the City of White Plains.  Although adjacent White Plains NY,...

Runsbrook Park which is a Town Park and will be maintained by the Town.  Private donations are being requested from dog lovers and pet owners. The Town Supervisor of Greenburgh, who can be a political lightning rod, is nonetheless very innovative.  He has started a collection of You Tube clips about the Town of Greenburgh, there are now about 20 clips. "Feiner and summer intern Andrew D. Laub began the project last week, posting clips to the popular site that range from interviews with municipal employees to recreational activities around town. "The goal is to show different aspects of the town of Greenburgh," said Laub, who will assist Feiner and oversee the project. Laub, 18, said the segments would also give constituents another way to connect with the government and be aware of town politics"   To read the entire article from the Journal News, here.To see the videos, here.

Supervisor Paul Feiner, Greenburgh, New York will introduce a proposal to create a program to let seniors in the Town of Greenburgh work off property tax increases doing volunteer work around town. Colorado, Massachusetts and Connecticut among others have "Work for Taxes" programs. Around the nation  Seniors (60+) can earn about $7.00/hour and can work off up to $700.00/yr of property tax increases.  In Greenburgh that can be the difference between staying in community and foreclosure. Some of the possible jobs would be helping the library, bookkeeping, receptionists, tutoring.Mr. Feiner is going to lobby the New York State Legislature and Congress so that the "Work for Taxes" program income is tax free.  Photograph courtesy of GeekPhotographer.com

Close to 80 years ago a family by the name of DiFate bought a 1/2 acre of land in the Town of Greenburgh which is located in central Westchester County, New York.  For all of this time this family has earned their living with a hot dog stand on this property.  The landscape around them has changed tremendously over the years including a Parkway, the Sprain Brook Parkway,  being built that now has an entrance/exit where their property is located.  They were located off the Jackson Avenue exit, going north, left at the light. This year after all this time they were told that the zoning for their property does not allow Hot Dog Stands, 79 years later."The elder DiFate - who died this year at the age of 96 while fighting the town's decision - began selling hot dogs in 1929 out of a small car...
