Manhasset Kindergarten registration is this week.  You can register your child on Tuesday, January 25th from 6-9 pm OR Thursday, January 27th from 4-6 pm at Munsey Park AND Shelter Rock elementary schools both nights. A few things to know to register: Your child will be 5 years old on or before December 1st 2011.  You will need an appointment to register, please call your elementary school to make the appointment.  Munsey Park at 267-7405 or Shelter Rock at 267-7450. You will need to pick up a Registration Packet at the main office of the school your child will attend prior to your registration appointment. I love living in Manhasset...it offers so much...but up until now, it did not offer Frozen Yogurt and we were all sad when we lost our place for ice cream when Emack and Bolio left town.  Now my kids and I have discovered and fallen in love with Frozen Yogurt. and some of the wonderful new frozen yogurt companies out there...how much you ask?  Well, I have a the FroYo app on my phone...using GPS it finds all the frozen yogurt shops close to wherever you are at that moment.   We discovered Pink Berry in the city and gave it thumbs up.  Out here on the island we discovered Red Mango in Greenvale, Roslyn and Carle Place. What's it like to live in Manhasset?  Come out and run around town with us and see! It's time to get out and walk and run around Manhasset!  Let's all help the Manhasset Women's Coalition Against Breast Cancer.  The whole town comes out to run and walk in support of this great cause - my husband and boys run and i ummm, walk - s-l-o-w-l-y.  It's okay there is something for all of everyone.  The event is professionally time and awards are given out in each age category for the overachievers.  I walk slowly and ejoy seeing my friends children who participate in scouting handing out water.  My first year, i pushed the twins in the double stroller, so much fun...except for the giant hill where I relied on the kindness of strangers to help get those tiny babies up the hill with me! It is a f... 10/12/2010

Living in Manhasset is a wonderful experience...there is a sense of community that is so hard to put into words.  Community starts with people and meeting people can be so hard when you move.  New Moms and Moms of young children can find motherhood extremely isolating...not in Manhasset thanks to The Mothers' Group of Manhasset. A visit to the Americana Shopping Center at the east end of Manhasset's Miracle Mile just might have you wondering how real the economic slowdown actually is.  I pulled my car into the parking lot, a vast expanse of real estate, where a guard stood, direcing the steady stream of traffic toward the still available spaces.  It was Friday afternoon.  I left my car in a spot near Brooks Brothers and walked west, past Cippolini's where patrons engaged in lively conversation, enjoying this perfect summer day at their packed outdoor tables.
