Wishing you all an enjoyable day with whom ever you spend time with in honor of Mother's Day.Carole Provenzale with Adam and Laura  A Mother’s Prayer For You "I said a Mother’s Day prayer for you to thank the Lord above for blessing me with a lifetime of your tenderhearted love. I thanked God for the caring you’ve shown me through the years, for the closeness we’ve enjoyed in time of laughter and of tears. And so, I thank you from the heart for all you’ve done for me and I bless the Lord for giving me the best mother there could be!" ~ Anon

The new US tax law implemented on January 1, 2018 has created significant background noise in the media. If you look at the fine print, however, the law will be a boon to many corporations and real estate investors, including foreign buyers. For current homeowners, it's a bit more complicated, as uncertainty around the law has tilted the market toward buyers. We are now in a buyer's market, but for how long, we don't know. If you are looking to purchase a Manhattan luxury condo, now may be time to make the move. We wrote an in-depth review of the tax reform effects on Real Estate investors and home owners that will help clarify the situation. The new tax code definitely created a jittery market and is reflected on the latest NYC condo sales market reports, causing activity in Q1 to be ...

125th Street location of the Harlem Train StationThe Harlem train station is usually the last stop just before you get to Grand Central Station if you are coming from Upstate NY.  Whenever I get on the Metro-North train heading to Manhattan on the Hudson line I always have a camera in hand and take scenes of the majestic Hudson River and the train stations. Back in January, I was heading to Manhattan and one of my captures that day was the Harlem Station at 125th Street as the train was pulling away.

To those passing by the Rhino Statue at Astor Place in New York City, they may see it and think, Wow! Look how massive and beautiful the sculpture is! Or maybe, they think nothing at all and just scutter off to work. What if I told you, this statue is paying homage to the last three surviving (now two) Northern White Rhinos on EARTH. Sudan, the last living male white Rhino, passed away on March 19th, 2018. He was 45 years old. The two females, Najin and Fatu are housed in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya, where they are under armed guard 24 hours a day. This 17 foot sculpture is not only beautiful, its capturing the story of humans and our constant destructive relationship to mother nature. While also, providing us with another reminder that WE CAN ALL DO BETTER. And we NEED to.Austra...

The juxtaposition of two different environments can provide unique visuals and interestingly, harmonize the energetic frequencies of a space when composed in a balanced manner. This was the case for clients in New York City. Looking outside their window, they have an amazing view of beautiful architecture. On their window sill, they began to include a minimalist display of plants. This subtle combination seems to work really well and almost, looks like a painting. Utilizing the outside environment and highlighting that from the interior of your home, is another fun and creative way in how you could boost positive energy. Naturally, pay attention to what your outside surroundings look like. If they feel and look unhealthy and agitating to your eyes and emotions, than this concept may not...

In regard to sacred geometry when viewing the octagon, there are two shapes coming together as one; which is the circle and the square. The circle represents heaven and the square represents earth, thus unifying these two energies through an infinite connection.     In BTB Feng Shui (Bon Buddhism), the octagon is seen as a symbol of protection to ward off negative spiritual activity. A common modern-day BTB recommendation is to hang an octagon-shaped mirror above the outside of a home’s front door that is direct across the street from a cemetery. The octagon is also seen as a vehicle for the advent of good health and good fortune.  Referring to the Western Bagua Map, you’ll see that too is in the shape of an octagon. Each life section ( 8 altogether) on the map relates to the main categ...

Oriental Rug Repair MethodsOriental rugs are fabulous floor coverings. An Oriental rug adds warmth, color, and beauty to the floor. It uplifts the whole room. By their very nature, they are subjected to damage-inducing experiences. Oriental rugs often endure spills, moths eat at the fibers, heavy furniture creates irreversible dents, and they are walked upon. Regular cleaning and maintenance keep up a rug's appearance. Some instances require professional restoration or repair to offset the usual wear-and-tear effects. The goal is to prevent any further deterioration or damage and to preserve the value and beauty. When damage occurs, have the rug repaired as soon as possible. Timely repair may prevent an inexpensive, simple repair from becoming an expensive, complicated repair job. Any re...

New York City is a great place to be around during the holidays.  I had a very early meeting this morning in midtown at 7am.  I arrived in the city before sunrise which means the the holiday lights were still on. Less is more and Grand Central is tastefully decorated with wreaths.Grand Central Station is one of the great landmarks of New York City.  Many years ago it was going to be demolished as Penn Station was on the other side of town.Jackie Kennedy Onasis led the effort to preserve and restore the terminal.  I am glad she did.  It is always a thrill to step off of my train from Westchester into this beautiful grand hall. There is always a security detail here from NYPD to keep everyone safe, both New Yorkers and millions of world wide visitors.  Information provided by   Grant Schne...

I think it's safe to say, many of those who live in or near NYC during the holiday season make time to stop by the Rockefeller Center Tree. Today was a perfect day to check this off my list of things to do for fun as I happened to be in New York City for a Feng Shui consultation. As a bonus, to add a dash of romance and holiday spirit, the backdrop of snow (the first of the season) really highlighted that whole experience.

It's always great to hear from customers and check in with them to see how they are progressing. Kathy shares a unique observation with her behavior, mindset and emotions after implementing the feng shui changes to her home. "The most interesting aspect of the journey for me was that, once our home felt more supportive and comforting, my perspective change to approach life and people a little differently. Idotn' sweat the small stuff, let a lot roll off my shoulder, and I feel like I have more to give to others both physically and emotionally. I think the Feng Shui process goes deeper than we realize." - Kathy Sager   Thank you Kathy, for sharing your experience.
