Here is something that is perfect for a Realtor to use for themselves, for their children, for luggage or for any number of other uses.  It is called the Zoombak-a GPS locator for $99.99 that helps you keep track of items, people or pets through your computer or cellphone.   The Zoombak works anywhere nation wide and you can set it to send a text message to a cellphone when it reaches its destination.  You can log on to your computer and check at anytime for its exact location.   If left in your car and your car has been stolen it can be used to track your vehicle for the police to recover your car.   Just think of how many ways this can be used-you are only limited by your imagination!

I got this email awhile ago and have let it sit because I wasn't sure if I was going to use it or not.  But because of recent abductions of women in the tri-state area and the anniversary of the death of someone I know who was killed by someone who was never caught I decided to use this exactly as I received it.  Does it seem a little dramatic?  Maybe, but if it saves one person who reads it then it was worth the time I took to post it.  It never hurts to be over cautious and in this ever increasingly dangerous world (especially for women) you always want to be aware of something that might be a trick.  I myself was approached at a gas station not too long ago and luckily I wasn't as stupid as the men were hoping I was. And remember, being a male doesn't mean you are safe either.  Remem...

Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love Bon Jovi.   Anytime that name gets mentioned everyone in my household groans because it has been 25 years of Bon Jovi from someone who usually gets tired of everything pretty quickly.   Strangely that has been the one thing that has out lasted anything else.  (Besides my family and friends of course)  Any whooo I am proud to say I have written over 275 blog posts and never once mentioned Bon Jovi so na na nanny na to my close close friends and family!  However I am breaking that today because I can't resist.  I have severe laryngitis and got this great video emailed to me and normally would have screamed when I opened something like this and couldn't darn it!  So this is my way of screaming!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

For the first time in 27 years new home buyers are looking to buy smaller homes driving down the average size of homes built since 1982.  The National Association of Home Builders found that the average size of a new home that was finished in 2009 fell to 2480 square feet from 2520 square feet in 2008. With the new tax credit available of $8000 the market is being flooded with first time home buyers who do not mind the compromise of a smaller home for a lower price.  There is also a surge in the 55 and over crowd purchasing homes which tend to be smaller in size as well. Over 95% of builders surveyed by The National Association of Home Builders in January 2010 said they will focus their building on lower priced models that were smaller in size.  As a result certain items would most like...

I was laughing so hard looking at this because I know half the world could probably not do this on a daily basis without banging up their vehicle.   He is definitely ingenious!  Thank goodness for the big garages we have! If we approached everything in life like he approached this particular situation we would all do terrific!

I recently got a Kindle as a gift, and as someone who never goes anywhere without a book, I absolutely love it!  For those who aren't too familiar with them they are 1/3 of an inch and weigh 10 ounces.   They can hold up to 1500 books at any one time and receive them wirelessly in approximately 60 seconds.  You have the option of turning the wireless off and on so it doesn't drain your battery.   By keeping the wireless off you can read up to a week on one battery charge.  How amazing is that?  Perfect for someone who likes to go camping or boating or somewhere where you might not have access to electricity on a day to day basis.  One of the best features is you can sample a book before you buy it.  If you see a book you think you might want you can get a few chapters for FREE, yes for ...

These are also pictures of the sky taken this week.  The sky does not usually look like this in the winter.  I was coming along the road and could see this through the trees and had to try and find a place to pull over to capture the sky like this.  Luckily I came to a field which gave me a good opening as you can see.   They didn't come out as nice as I had hoped they would but I was rushing because there really was nowhere to pull over but you get the idea of how unbelievably beautiful the sky looked.    When it looks like that you want to look and look and not have to concentrate on driving!   Photo by Debra Walsh, Copyright © 2010 Debra Walsh. I was on my way to an appointment yesterday.  Wow I am just realizing how many of my blogs start this way.  :-)   Any whoooo I was coming along this road and saw a run-away-cow.   Unfortunately I don't have pictures of that particular cow because I jumped out and tried to keep cars on this fast moving road from hitting this rather quick moving cow while I tried to keep her off the road.  Within minutes one of her owners showed up and proceeded to chase her up and down the road while I tried to warn people on the road.  A few minutes after that another family member showed up and they moved farther away.  As I was getting ready to leave I noticed a crowd had gathered at the fence and gotten quite loud.  I started to take their picture and then heard quite a bit of noise behind me and saw...

This new "Ice Cube" cooler looks like it may be a popular wave of the near future.  It solves the problem of melted water in the bottom of coolers that can ruin food like bread, cold cuts etc...You fill the Ice Cube up with water and put it in the freezer.  This will then go in your cooler.  Not only will it supply you with cold drinking water, it will keep your cooler totally dry and can hold a six pack.    It can be used a variety of ways.  Check out the video!

My friend Tina came to see me last week and brought her new pet with her.  What a cutie! She adopted her new Yorkie from a place that does animal rescues. (North Shore Animal League) He is only a few years old (maybe 7) and she is in the process of training him, getting him used to her and used to other people.   When he came to her he had not been taken care of and had some problems.  He had a huge bite on his back which left him with a scab at the time he came to her.  She had to put an antibiotic ointment on it each day and medicine in his ears.See his cute little tongue sticking out?  That is because he has virtually no teeth.  They were never taken care of, became rotten and had to be removed by North Shore Animal League because they were so decayed and were threatening his health....

The EcoSmart Fire portable fireplaces are from "The Fire Company"  started in 2002.  This company was first launched in Australia with the idea of the "open fireplace," an environmentally friendly style of fireplace that was both stylish and highly efficient.  Since 2004 the "EcoSmart Fire" has been installed in many residential and commercial properties all over the world. Over time the company has achieved its aim for a cost effective, efficient, environmentally friendly and aesthetically appealing fireplace which can be placed in any home or business like any state of the art piece of furniture.                                   These fireplaces are flue less, require no installation and no connection to utilities for fuel supply.  They are fueled by Denatured Ethanol which burns cle...

I just got back from seeing the new movie AVATAR.  What a great movie.  The special effects are fantastic.  It is not exactly a cartoon or animated like it looks in the previews.  It is a little over two and a half hours long and keeps your interest the whole movie.  It is the story of an ex-marine who is sent to an alien planet filled with exotic life forms.  As an Avatar which is a human mind in an alien body he finds himself torn between the two worlds in a fight for his own survival as well as that of the alien people.  Sigourney Weaver is one of the main characters.  Take your family to see it and Enjoy!
