Earlier this month I met with the owner of an empty apartment with 180 degree views of Central Park, upper Manhattan and the Hudson River,  to give her an estimate on staging it with furniture and decorative accessories.  She had temporarily taken it off the market.   Price Reduction news - so what does it all mean for YOU the seller and your agents? I was astounded when I read the Price reduction news this morning. I was astounded because I know so many agents try their hardest to price homes correctly, only to have a seller demand a higher listing price. Some agents will walk away, knowing that their price is right, not wanting to align themselves with an unsuccessful sale attempt. Other agents agree to the higher list price, only with a pre-signed price reduction, in the event that the only sound heard around the home are “crickets” chirping. I used to use this tactic myself, and I recommend it both for sellers and their agents. Simply put, you agree to disagree and place a limit on your losses.  Confidence:  Are you lacking it or do you exude it? Coming back from a New York City meeting not long ago with a prominent business person and his assistant that I have been working on a Feng Shui project with, the subject of Confidence came up. They were thinking of adding to their staff and had liked the qualifications of a person that they had interviewed but said that she seemed to lack confidence.  She hadn't made much eye contact during the interview, hadn't asked many questions and didn't seem to be enthusiastic; she appeared to lack confidence and it cost her the job. The City Bakery in New York City New York....What a Delight! Ok, I have to admit, I've heard about this place for YEARS.  With all my travels to New York City as a Feng Shui Consultant, however, I've never made time to go there.  Until recently. The City Bakery in New York City is obviously known for its baked delicacies...many with chocolate on them.  As a matter of fact, you can see the melted Chocolate used right in the center of their lovely establishment.  What I didn't know about The City Bakery in New York City, NY was that it served a huge variety of healthful foods which are sold by the pound.  It's a "serve yourself" place and you can choose from a wide variety of healthy things to eat.  This visit was turning out much better then I expected. Someone special gave me a plaque not long ago; a plaque with a quote on it.   I wondered if they bought it for me because they felt that’s what I’d done or because they loved the quote.  I keep it right in front of me and every day I see it and hope that someday it fits me.  Who I was and what I wanted to accomplish.   Even in New York, Feng Shui was not well known at ALL in 1996. New York City Restaurant Week-It's Here!  Fabulous (Mostly Feng Shui) Finds. It's so nice that I'm in New York City frequently for Feng Shui Consultations.  This week, however, I'd travel there anyway....it's one of two weeks out of every year we you have an opportunity to eat in SO many different places, all at a price-fix amount.  Restaurant Week in New York City has arrived. Feng Shui ART?  Or ART of Another KIND? We ALL know Art is subjective.  After all, Beauty IS in the eyes of the beholder.  Some see beauty in every day objects and, if you're REALLY lucky, others will see it, too. Recently, after a New York City Feng Shui Consultation a friend convinced me to stop in MOMA  The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art.  You really don't have to twist my arm to go there, it happens to be my favorite Museum in New York City.  I theorize that it's because of it's DESIGN---Light and open and airy; you never feel as if you're in a "dark" space.
