Even on a Cloudy Day…....the Views of The Hudson River Are Amazing! One of the things I love about being a Realtor in Newburgh NY, is that I get to preview many homes in the area. Some days we see old homes, new homes, unique homes and some homes are sad and looking to be repaired. My favorite is when I get to see homes that are on the Hudson River. This week on tour I was able to partake in a most spectacular view of a home on the market. While one of many, it was a treat and I just could not help but take a photo… or two, and capture just how beautiful the river is…. Even on a cloudy day.Are you looking to purchase a River View Home in Orange County NY? Waking up and having coffee on your deck while looking out at the river is a great way to start the day. Search for that dream home an...

Wordless Wednesday Moon Over Newburgh NY Depending on where you call home, when you look up to the sky you presumably see the same moon I do....  ...on some days I take it a step further and wonder…is someone looking up to earth from "their home”..?? This photo was taken by my husband Joe, who has been known to frequently take some really cool photos!

The Newburgh Brewery Launch Party Is On!  History In the Making The Newburgh Brewing Company ~ Newburgh NY A collective of amazing people and a blend of individual talents have collaborated and given birth to this microbrewery in the city of Newburgh NY. The Newburgh Brewing Company began with an idea for a taste, and a business concept that utilizes strategic skills to make a beer that the Newburgh palate has been waiting for! The players in this project are lifelong friends and beer enthusiasts, and together they have embarked on this project of their dreams.  Their business skills and teamwork, but mostly the unique taste, will impress both the refined and masses when they officially launch the new beer they are crowning as their very own. The party is just getting started!   Chris,...

The Wherehouse Restaurant  119 Liberty Street Newburgh NY  Turn On ~ Tune In … 60’s Retro Atmosphere In A Local Newburgh Restaurant   In the Heart of Newburgh NY you can find this local non chain restaurant near Washington’s Headquarters. The Wherehouse Restaurant is mostly patronized by the locals, has a great selection of burgers and is known for its comfort food. Unlike most restaurants of this kind, it also caters to the vegetarian crowd. When dining out both palates are pleasantly rewarded.  The beer selection has been reviewed as “stellar”. Now with the launch party of the Newburgh Brewing Company they are sure to increase their menu. My favorite part of the restaurant is on the walls, as they are plastered with 60’s and early 70’s rock music albums that have been framed. It is a...

~ Speechless Sundays  ~   ~ Checking Out the New Neighbors ~ Another New Home went Under Contract in Balmville Estates. I went to show the home this weekend to another couple interested in the location. When we arrived it was quiet and my car didn’t startle the onlookers. These beautiful deer were standing in the middle of the lot next door just watching as we walked down the driveway to see the new home. I guess they were checking out their potential new neighbors.

Community Supported Agriculture in Newburgh NY    Those Working Girls are Busy!   Two years ago I found out that I had a “CSA ~ Farm” right around the corner from my front door. I passed by this home and land every day as I drove to just about everything I did on a daily basis. I never paid that much attention until I started to see activity happening with the clearing of the property and a plan for some sort of garden. Little did I know it was going to be an adorable farm. Stonegate Farm was online along with Matthew Benson the owner,(a professional photographer and farmer)  with his family.  Small as it is, the property supports a two acre parcel designated as Community Supported Agriculture (CSA).  A collective of sorts as the locals reimburse the farmer, for his efforts. Together th...

Waterfront Restaurants in Newburgh NYCheck Out One of the many reasons that people love the Hudson Valley!Do you know where to dine in Newburgh NY?  The question always comes up where to eat when a group of people are looking to go out together. It is not an uncommon problem of what restaurant to choose. I know everyone wants somebody else to make the decision. Who wants to responsible for choosing something that doesn’t work for the majority? I never decide when a large group gets together, as the rule of thumb, unless a group of vegetarians get together, you don’t have the vegetarian choose the restaurant… LOL. The Newburgh Waterfront has a plethora of restaurants that grace diners with fabulous views of the Hudson River and the Newburgh Beacon Bridge. Winter time has diners inside, b...

~ ActiveRain ~ Guest Blogging … and Me~ I Guess I’m No Longer a Newbie?!? I began blogging on ActiveRain back in late October. Little did I know what I was in for!  I had never written anything before ActiveRain, and really was quite skeptical of just what it would do for me in the long run. More than that, I was feeling overwhelmed by the process to get noticed and be a part of this community. Recently I was asked to guest blog…what me? When the email showed up in my inbox I thought it was spam for sure! Dale Robyn Siegel sent me an invitation to write about my hometown and the local real estate market in Newburgh for her blog. Dale is an attorney, owns a mortgage company and is an author and speaker. She blogs about “All things Real Estate” and is certainly an accomplished woman. My b...

~ The Clock is Ticking~ A Guest Blogging Invitation!! The last two weeks have been super busy for me. I have taken one new listing, working on two new offers for buyers on resale homes, one purchase offer on a parcel of land, and getting ready for an open house next week. Still I keep marketing the rest of my new construction making sure everyone is happy with the progress that those homes are making.  In my free time I have been learning video and of course BLOGGING. The clock keeps ticking! So much to do so little time! I set daily priorities and make sure that I am using my time well. ActiveRain tells me that I need to keep on blogging and getting the job done and stay motivated. Sleep is over rated I guess. I have noticed that nobody on AR sleeps much! I see that as a community the ...

Wordless Wednesday No Glue ~ Just Physics The Vernal Equinox was March 20th 1:14 EDT. Spring arrived and so did egg balancing festivities in my kitchen yesterday morning. Have you tried it? I did the night before with no success. Bad timing I guess. My husband found that when he was making breakfast the forces of physics being what they were still allowed him to balance the egg on its axis. Timing is everything.

~ Speechless Sundays ~ Flowers Just know to Bloom I was out taking photos for a new listing I will have shortly. It is a sad house that has not been lived in for years.  Still the yard is coming back with green and the promise of spring. The crocus is an exciting sign that with a plan of action for the house, it can be made into a home again.

Newburgh Free Academy ~ High School Musical 2012 ~ Newburgh NY   "HAIRSPRAY" Ready, set and time for the local high schools in the Hudson Valley to feature their special talents. Each year students work together as a team to produce a full length musical complete with costumes, props, set design, lighting, orchestra and of course the dancers and actors.  It starts with auditions, usually back in late fall, and then after the holidays are over and the new year begins an extensive rehearsal schedule is added in to their already lengthy school day.  This year the chosen musical for NFA is “Hairspray" A musical that celebrates soc-hops and teen love. All this happens in the early 1960’s setting in Baltimore, Maryland. Great music, great costumes and fun to be had for the audience and of cou...

Wordless Wednesday ~ Up Close and Personal  We don’t get to meet and greet people in the usual way  here in the ActiveRain community. I have never met any of you up close and personal, and I have only spoken with a few on the phone. In spite of that I find it quite interesting the bonding that forms anyway….
