Pleasantville, NY is one of several villages in the Town of Mount Pleasant. Pleasantville is located just 31 miles north of Grand Central Terminal in NYC, the village is home to over 7000 residents. Settled in 1695 and formerly known as "Clark's Corners," the Village was once a stop along the Underground Railroad. Pleasantville became an autonomous local government in 1897. It is the original home of The Readers Digest corporation.
